I went to pick up a Grom I bought on Co-part this morning. I strapped it down to my hitch platform, and tried to start it. It immediately caught fire, Luckily I got it out rather quick, and it didn't do much damage. Bad way to start the ownership of a Motorcycle.

It doesn't have exhaust, and had a broken fuel line once I primed the pump.

Already paid, when i picked it up, I bought it without checking it out. It was a wreck, so I got it cheapish.

 

So what is the plan for it? Fix and flip? Or fix and keep?

For now I have all the parts to put it back together, if it's decent I'm gonna ride it for a while. Then I was thinking about putting the motor and suspension on this. But If it come out nice, and someone offer me 3k, I'd probably sell it

Just looking at that thing I'd have expected it to catch on fire the moment it started(if it started, which I wouldn't have bet on), so you really should have seen that coming.

It runs, but still leaks fuel, ordered good used fuel lines.
