Ruffstuff diff cover vs solid diff cover

both are cheap right now. i see the solid is cast and the ruffstuff is welded
which is better or stronger?

will be on a Rubicon D44

I like the ruff stuff ones better for the same reason hosejockey mention (welding to them). Also, they are stronger imo too. Cool article about this in the winter ed. of 4x4 Garage. Doesn't exactly use the ruff stuff cover but it does use a couple that are a lot like it (blue torch fab cover) and it does use the solid cover.

We use the ruffstuff ones. They aren't the nicest looking IMHO, but they are priced well, super strong, and the owner is cool.

I've done both the welded and the kits, and both are fine. The flange is 3/8 and even after welding the cover on with the welder retarded hot I didn't need to surface the face to seal properly.
