Life has side tracked me a bit the last few months but I work on it few nights a week, every week.

Using pre-molded silicon radiator tubing to re-plumb the cooling system for the non-stock radiator.

Narrowing down final locations for fuel cell and battery.

Neck deep in learning about automotive electronics, how to wire in master kill switches, how to bare bones a XJ wiring harness, what I need to do to power accessories, what do I want on switches, etc. In the planning stages of this build I completely overlooked this portion of it. I think I've got it figure out, just need to get the stock harness back in place and plumb the fuel system so that I can fire the motor. That way as I'm eliminating things from the harness I can make sure I'm not messing things up.

Trying to get a hold of my buddy so that I can rework the door bars, make it easier to get in and a little more elbow room.

Building up my savings with stimulus checks and tax returns 😁 so that I can start making large purchases: full hydro, wheels, coilovers.

Quick update on my build. I got the factory wire harness and new battery/alternator wiring rough in. Was able to get it fired back up after that...which was a great feeling. Have to fix a few issues so that I can run it for longer than a few seconds at a time. Then I can start really paring down the factory harness and start the wiring process.

No pics to show at the moment...tired of trying to find easy ways to host/post pictures. Spent the last few weeks cutting wires and now have myself a stand alone 4.0 wiring harness 😁 I've order up a bunch of electrical doodas so I can start roughing in the wiring. Going to wire all the engine management fuses and relays into a new waterproof power distribution box. Went with a Voswitch UV100 to run all the fans, lights, etc. Anything that just needs a fuse will go in with the new distribution box too. Once I have all that stuff gathered up I'll start fabbing up the interior and find places to mount everything.

While test firing the motor in between snipping wires I noticed the crankshaft has quite a bit of axial movement...so looks like I'll be tearing into the motor at some point.

Also reworked the tube work between and a-pillar and b-pillar for a little more elbow room and make it easier to get in and out.

One of these days I'll have to get some pictures posted :sneaky:

That voswitch looks like it makes life a little easier for wiring.

Looking forward to pics. I have been posting pics right from my phone. Just login from the web browser, select pics and post. It's been pretty easy.
I priced out individual switches, thought about the time to wire individual switches, and saw how many builders are going to those types of switch panels I started looking into them more. SPods were more than I wanted to spend, Switch Pros seemed nice but still a little pricey. Voswitch was the lowest cost I could find that still seemed to also be a quality unit. Also I like that they use standard relays instead of solid state, so if something goes wrong with the relay its repairable. I plan on running a separate, traditional ignition switch and start button. The Voswitch will run the cooling fan triggers, led lights, and room for a few other things when its time.

I'll try that route for pictures instead of hosting/posting. Would love to share some photos of my progress so I'll get things cleaned up this weekend and snap some pics.

I'm going to be running a shifter from RADesign that will allow me to manually shift the AW4. So all that's left of the stock harness is for the motor. I kept the neutral safety switch harness from the AW4 for now.

Since I have a stand alone engine harness now, maybe I'll 4.0 swap my JK some day :D

Spent most of my Sunday fixing the exhaust on my girlfriends Xterra. But I did take some time and roughed in a center console. Pretty sure I'll end up adding more to the sides and a dash before I call it complete. Still trying to figure out a good layout for switches, gauges, etc. And need to brace it to the chassis. Just wanted to get the rough structure there.
