Meh, we'll see, can punt all the other crap I've accumulated to offset the rest of this stuff I'll need to make this happen.

Still some cost, but at least this is something I'm more familiar with.

a 5.3 in that should move pretty good!
There's a whole list of pros and cons I ran through to come to this conclusion.

Biggest pro to the TDI is, MPG, and, this isn't my daily so wtf do I care I realized.

Biggest con to the LS is the size, but it's smaller and lighter than the Mercedes diesel that was in there. Really I just reject the 55,000 couch dwellers following me on Youtube talking about "slapping an LS in" whatever, or what all do I need and go.

My desire to be different led me down stupid, expensive rabbit holes.

The reality is, no one slaps anything in anything, and most just run their mouths. I may as well stick to what I know.

Now that my truck burning to the ground is mostly settled, I can get back to work 😪

Want to swap to Tundra brakes, because all the newer Yota stuff has floating rotors, which is way easier to service. Also wanted to put my IFS hubs on my solid axle for the widening, but needed to have the hubs turned down about .250 first.

Don't have a lathe where I work now, tried to find a pole barn back yard shop to do this, no one wanted to touch it for less than 200 bucks, so I scribed a line around, cut the nubs back with a cut off wheel, and will finish them with a flap disc... 🤓

I'm generally happy to pay someone to deal with stuff, but FFS I'm not going to let you retire off me lol. Took me the same 15 minutes with a grinder it would have taken with a lathe.

Forgot to post, I've had the engine here for like 4 months, I let it get rained in for three months out in the yard, so I had to clean it out a bit before I fired it up.
