Well the children rights groups have taken away so much parents power to do anything then the parents have taken away the power of schools. When my son got in trouble in school I sat in the princples office with him there. That if he got into trouble I would bust his butt right there. In the school and the princple that I could do that and I told her then I guess you will have to call the cops out because this is where he did wrong and this is where the punsiment was going to happen. Never had any more problem from then on in school with him.

What a shame.

He should have fruit-bowled 'em. :tonka:

Seems fair to me. Maybe I'm just jaded because it would seem that my elementary route (on the school bus) has been especially horrible. Kids are Crazy right now. Last time I checked though, it was the parents responsibility to teach them to keep thier cloths on. :tonka: If An older kid did that on my bus he would be suspended, at least from the bus, if not the whole school. Even at a Younger age if it's a String of Mis-behavior I see suspension completely reasonable. If it's an Isolated incident then suspension would be a bit much.
I had a Kid stab about 50 holes in the back of one of my seats friday. I said "You're not poking holes in my seats are you?" and he gave me a look of Sheer panic. Hilarious. I wrote him up, along with the other Participants of Stab-fest. I can honestly say he just didn't realize he was doing something wrong intill I asked him what he was doing. Kids just don't think some times. They are kids.

Friend of ours kid just got punched in the face and the kid who punched him only had to sit in the office for the rest of the day. so i would say way overboard.

Is this the normal discipline routine for kindergarteners? I mean seriously? 1 day suspension for mooning?
No its not normal, its politically correct.

I will yank my kids out of school if they got suspended for dropping drawers when they are under the age of 6. They dont know any better. Hell I still moon people.

at first I was thinking there is no way this happened to lothos twice.... holy old thread

Schools are too sensitive. I can understand a no tolerance policy for weapons, threats, or even joking threats. Enough has happened in this country, that I would be concerned if they didn't take even the stupidest thing seriously, in relation to violence or threats. However, they've taken it too far. I mean, this kid is five, and he mooned another kid (who was probably laughing his ass off). Why would you take one of the schools most extreme disciplinary actions against him (expulsion, or calling the cops being about the only actions more extreme that the school could take)?

Hell, I got suspended for 2 days from high school for 'swearing' (I told another kid to stop pissing off the teacher). I just don't get it.

Just taking a shot in the dark here, but maybe the mooning was just another step in a series of behavioral issues that pushed the teacher and school over the edge? Just guessing and all.
