Since when is it the teachers job to teach students the difference between right and wrong, isn't that the parents job??? I thought teachers taught math, english, social studies, science, etc. Right and wrong should be taught at home and enforced at school, not taught at school.

I don't agree with 1 day suspension, I think a warning and a call to the parents is more along the lines of what should of happened.

Teachers IMO have every right to be teaching kids up to a certain age right from wrong. It's done so through repetition and can't solely be a parents responsibility. Also, many situations a child does not face at home, so since you are to discipline at the point of occurrance for young children...it falls on teachers once again.

My oldest was kicked out the first year . I think it was about the 3rd kid he kicked the carp out of in the first week that did him in .

now teach your kid to keep his damn pants up and dont blaim the school

Marv, he has never ever ever pulled his pants down in front of other kids ever before. IMO, you don't go teaching a kid about something right/wrong if they haven't witnessed/performed it. You're just asking for the kid to do it.

And yes, I blame the school for suspending him. What fucking good is a suspension going to teach a 5 year old? IMO, the reason for a suspension of a 5 year old is to "get back" or antagonize the parents into doing something. It's basically them throwing their hands up and not doing something about the situation when it happens. What good is it doing me to discipline my child 4-5 hours after the incident?

i got susstioned for waering a hat in class but that didnt theach me anything expect to do it again i got 3 days off school and made like 500 dollors at work hahah thats realy good to theach them youg

Exactly my point, At least i think.

For an older child yes but a kindergarden age child....probably not. Hell I'm 32 and still moon people.......:tonka:
You're still in kindergarten at 32?

OMG! What kind of parent would teach a child to show thier naked body in public?

That is SO wrong!

J/K

People realy need to lighten up in this world. Taking shit too seriously will cause medical conditions.

So you taught your kid to beat up his classmates? (Or at least kick their Carp, which makes me wonder why they had fish at school in the first place)

My brother got expelled from his elementary school last year because a girl kissed him. I mean for gods sakes, they are in 2nd grade. the girl and my brother are in private school now and the girl supossedly will be allowed back to the public school next year. We are the United Whimpified States Of Gheymerica now.

Kicking a kid out of school at any age is punishing the parents.

So Many people have put up a fuss about kids getting corrected in school the teachers hands are tied, they can not even stand them in a corner due to mental abuse. Put some power back in the hands of the Teachers to correct your children and they may not have to send them home.

I blame the parents for all these monsters....except Lothos. I know he is a good dad.

I say parents, I mean the bad ones. There are some good ones. So when you read down, i mean the bad ones.

I would rather my son got in trouble for this, I got a call from the teacher because, he pointed his finger and went "Bang". He was pointing at a toy robot in the classroom.
No more Power Rangers for him...............
Yup, in the rules for the scholl where my son goes also....no guns. Not even finger guns.

OMG What next?!?!?! Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?!?!!?
Already done. Banned in church and school activities because peanut butter may have peanuts in it and the kids are too stupid to remember from one day to the next that they can't have peanuts. I blame the parents.

Suspensions are Stupid to begin with. Saturday schools are way more affective. A suspension is like a day off to them. Make them go to school on saturday and they will be less likely to do it again. And i don't mean in this case, but in cases where ther should be getting in trouble.
I blame the parents again. When I was young, if you got suspended, it was the farthest thing from a vacation. I worked my ass off from sun up to sun down, no TV, no phone, no nothing. I would beg for Saturday school because at least Mom might not find out about it.

Correct. The parents expect the school to teach right and wrong, but have taken away the ability to enforce the rules or exact any punishment for breaking the rules. Then to top it off, the parents do not re-enforce the right and wrong at home and then bitch that that it's the schools fault.

What? It's the PARENT'S job to teach them right from wrong. Little Billy should get to kindergarten and know that it is not right to pull the hair of the girl in front of him. He should know how to share. He should know that telling the teacher to suck his d--k is not proper.

i got susstioned for waering a hat in class but that didnt theach me anything expect to do it again i got 3 days off school and made like 500 dollors at work hahah thats realy good to theach them youg
Every time you type, it is painfully obvious that your parents did not feel that school was very important. They can be added to the bad ones.

I was kidding, i think it is the parents responsibity. And i never got suspended becasue my parents make me scared they would gimme and ass wooping if i did.

I know, it's sad. I was being sarcastic, we were beating the subject to death in another thread. The grade school my daughter went to last year (middle school this year) has gone "peanut free" for this year. My wife works there and I pretty much get to hear about it daily. I think America has lost it's mind, actually.. :sonicjay:

I went to Catholic school. I had my ass beat by the nuns on a regular basis. Then I would pray (Catholic school, remember) that my parents didn't find out, cause then I had another ass-whoopin' coming!

We didn't have ADD or peanut allergies, because the nuns would beat that right out of ya! :sonicjay:

By the way, I agree with everything in your post (well, except for the Fram_boy comment, I just think he is brain damaged :tonka: )

let the kids moon!!!!!!...

when the boy gets to highschool all he is gunna see is wale tail and asses hangin out of jeans on slutty 16 year olds. they dont' get suspended... those girls get A's from the male teachers.

unless styles change again and go the the high mom pants or something

First, unfortunately, I have worked with a principal who suspended kids for this exact reason. There are bad apples. BUT I have also worked in multiple counties, districts, and schools and this is VERY RARELY the case in my experience.

I agree that a suspension in K is a tough one and without knowing all the facts, I would say that I prolly wouldn't have done it. However, there would have to be some sort of punishment, probably a stern talk with the principal and then a lesson with the social worker or counselor about private parts we don't show, obviously a phone call home. The principals hands might have been tied on this one though as school code of conducts are very strict and often don't allow for too much judgement call in this type of situation. Also, it may seem pretty harmless, but you'd be surprised how many other parents will call in and try to get the principal to tell them what punishment was given and how they can't believe they allowed this to happen in the school etc. I know because I'm the acting principal for my school. Whenever the real principal is gone, I'm in charge and it's pretty amazing what things they have to deal with. I've had to suspend kids before and I didn't like it when I've had to do it either but sometimes, you don't have a choice based on state laws and codes of conduct which leads me to this. . .

Keep in mind that your schools rules and code of conduct are not just made up for shits and giggles, they are in direct response to situations that have happened and for which schools has been taken to litigation over. So in all reality it isn't the school but it's the crapheads in our society that made it that way. (which I think you mention in the first post.)

Same in my district... Oh and we don't even allow signs that say there is a peanut allergy in the classroom. They all now say something like, "There is a "nut" allergy in this room, no nut products allowed" or some garbage like that. You can't blame that on the school though, you have to blame that one on the Lawyers and sue-happy people....

I find this to be the case with some of my most difficult behavior problems too. I'm dealing with behavior issues on a daily basis.

Funny quote :tonka: farm_boy - Maybe had you not gotten suspended and took school more seriously and respected the rules, you would've made $1000 working, instead of only $500.....
