Back in December, Starlink was cost prohibitive for me unless you didn't want "in motion" capability. Now that it's $50/50GB and $1/GB after that... in motion... it is very enticing. Finding quality cellular data plans is around that (that you can turn off when not in use).
The Mini has a built-in WAP that you can disable if you want (use it like a regular Starlink antenna). The enticing part for me with the Mini is that it can run on 12v-48vdc. So you can run it on POE or off coach power.
Fixed = doesn't move (like your house)
Roam = can go places, but not in use over 10mph
Mini Roam = can go places at over 10mph (aka in-motion) but limited to 50GB
Mobile (AKA In Motion) = works at speed (over 10mph)
Mobile Priority = works at speed and get preferential treatment
The plans for Starlink change continuously so who knows what next quarter brings. The plans are like $35/month in central america and have fewer restrictions... and the Mini is just $200 elsewhere.
The Mini with the Mini Roam plan is enticing to me because I'd use it while on the go, as well as when I got to the destination.
