My cat might be kinda old, But I would bet he can kick most other cats ass.

Update: September 2014
The cat that started this thread is not longer with us.

Now dont go scaring the shit out of him its hard enough letting someone else be responsible for you child while your gone. :poke:
I misunderstood what he said.... I get it now.

That's why I commented that the cost difference of the "better one" we go to was WELL worth it.

Punishment time at this budget daycare involved kids getting there mouths taped shut and locked in a closet for 15, 20, 30 minutes. Depending on the offense, But when your little guy has a snotty nose and passes out do to lack of oxygen it does not take long for permanent damage to take place. :(

I assume this daycare was not registered with the state?! How can this even be possible?!

Even state registered day care places can be run by people that are in it for the money and not so much for the kids they are caring for.
See if the place you are thinking about has cameras for you to view while at work. you know to keep an eye on the little one and the workers to see how they interact with the kids.

What do you mean? Financially fucked up for life?

That is part of reason we have decided to only have 1, and the fact that I'm getting old. :teehee:
Greg Henderson @ Unofficial Use Only is an example... damn daycare shook the shit out if his kid. Liam is lucky he's alive. I don't want to scare you, but it does happen. If you get a bad vibe at a place move on. We passed on an in home care for our daughter and when my wife called her to tell her we were going elsewhere she flipped out and snapped at us. So happy to have dodged that bullet.

My friend in Minneapolis pays $1800/month for one child.

We have always been around the $1000/month mark. Now that my daughter is in pre-care at a public school it's like $800 or so. That said, I don't think she gets near the attention/discipline/etc that she got in private care.

This is why we are going to try and stay where we're at until he is ready for kindergarten.

First off, damn. That's one of those "I wouldn't hurt her, but accidents happen" type situations if it was my kid.

Second. I'm paying about $1200 a month for daycare on my two. I can understand the not moving for daycare. I'm looking at another job and it would mean my daycare adds another 40 miles round trip to my commute because we'd want to keep the one we got.

Don't get me wrong, it has been great for socialization, my son stayed in the private care longer, and I think that is a big part of why he is a hermit at 8 years old. He is not near as social or outgoing. That daycare kind of coddled him because he was their favorite and it wasn't hidden well.

Worst part of it is security camera footage existed and was deleted. No one was ever brought up on charges because every person in that daycare claimed they didn't know who did it, or was in that room. Greg had to be talked off the ledge from doing anything.

This is a good point. They openly tell my wife and I this about our son, even in front of the other children. What you are saying is certainly something to think about.

My wife did not go back to work until both of my kids were in school full time.
My wife and I talked about it, but she takes home way more than what it takes to pay for the kids daycare. If that were to ever invert she would stay home. At this point we'd lose money by her staying home.

Yep. Same here. $275 x 52 = $14,300. My wife makes a lot more than this. IF we had a second child and had to pay double this, then the juice might not be worth the squeeze...
