So how do you check your oil level?

Apparently you don't. Like Alex456123 said, it tells you when you need to add oil.

That's a quickie lube customer dream come true. Short each refill just enough that the sensor doesn't come on and save on oil costs.

 

I never check my oil levels on my Silverado or FJ. Lol. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I TRY to check mine every time I fill up. (I forget sometimes so I probably check it twice a month)

I used to check... It got boring lol.

With 240k on the Silverado and 185 on the FJ, I figure they've given good service even if they do suddenly sprout a leak.

My issue is the 5.3 in my Sierra has AFM which causes oil consumption. Several months back I purchased a shut off device from diablo that has helped tremendously, but I still check it regularly, probably because I'm paranoid. :sonicjay:

They really won't, it's been ten years, I'll just go get her another one. We're already shopping them for her anyway lol.

You have to go deep into the info center and then its a 5 min process of leveling the car, shutting it off and waiting until the computer thinks its stable enough. I know what a douche car.

My wife has checked and filled the oil in a vehicle before. When we still had our colorado, I must have forgotten to put teh extra quart of oil in, cause I got a call from her saying a light came on, and it said low oil.

She called me after she checked the oil and put a quart in. Problem solved, she called me to let me know. Have no idea how surprised I was to hear to she already checked and filled the oil :sonicjay:

 

We had just moved, garage was full of shit, parking outside, cold, didn’t get around to changing the oil. Apparently our minivan burned oil but not to the point that it became an issue between oil changes. Found out that up until then she had NEVER checked her oil before. Oops.
