Yes 5 years ago My boss brought me into the big office to ride my ass once again and in that conversation he said " If you don't want to do this job I got 12 guys right out that door that will do it for what I pay you" I Said OK, 21 days later I handed him my resignation. :finger:

They have bid out my job 5 different times and no one would take it even after giving the position a 3 dollar raise. :teehee: They offered the position to 8 different candidates and all of them turned it down. :finger:
As of last year I earned 32k better than my best year working for Mr. Grumpy Pants.:woot::woot::woot::beerbang: I have now hired 2 of my former coworkers and thank God I got out of there with my sanity. :thumb:

Well, I got the job at Mueller Brass, I go next week for the physical and screening. 30 days at 40 hours and 'B' rate pay, then 4 12 hr shifts on, 4 days off and full pay. If I catch on fast, it may be quicker.

Getting fired may have been the best thing to happen, I was getting goals added to existing goals for my raise at CHS, but never got the raise. They are good at that, there are some guys on the floor that haven't had a raise for 5 years.

So now, I will have a 15 minute drive to work, and long 'weekends' every week, because of 4 days on 4 days off some of my weekends will be during the week.

Congrats!

How are the dunes mid week during the summer (late July)? Busy?
Mid week isn't bad at all, usually on the light side. Even non holiday weekends aren't too bad. Busy but manageable. Got plenty of room to play without having to dodge too many idiots on the weekdays for sure.

Yogi bear is generally pretty family friendly

I've heard the same but haven't personally stayed there. Looks like lots for kids to do but the sites and layout look pretty cramped. Really nice bonus that the whole downtown area is walking distance though.

I'm a big fan of Silver Lake Resort and Campground. They've fixed it up a ton in recent years too, new bathhouses, big playground for kids as of last year, nice pool, nice shop up front with supplies, snacks and drinks, and souvenirs, etc. I like the sites along the north woodline best for privacy and space, but none of them are bad.

I think it was Silver Hills that I stayed at and the owner was an ass. Campground was decent. I've never stayed thee again.

Val-du-Lakes is better, but still likely not family friendly.

Jellystone is very family friendly, spaces look cramped, but aren't terrible. They are on par with most 'popular' campgrounds.

Ended up modifying the dates I was looking at and booked a site at the State campground. Basically because I'm a fan of State campgrounds, I could see a picture of my site (knew what I'd be getting into), town is still farily close by, and think it might be a little more low key. The private campgrounds definitely have way more to offer kids but my kids are still young enough that I dont let them off on their own. So the State campground being a little more low key helps. If the trip this year goes well maybe next year we'll try a different campground.

Planning on one day at the dunes, more than enough for my kids to get bored :sonicjay: We've camped in both Ludington and Muskegon the last few years and some things we want to see again so might do some day trips to those places on the other days.

So, did ya miss me? I've been out for a year and a half.

I have a new apartment in Saugatuck. I have a church too, as odd as it sounds for me. It feels good to be tied down to an area, never had that before.

I'm still driving my Cherokee that I built years ago.
Congrats! It is always nice to put down roots. :thumb:

Cool beans, we're all still here arguing politics and not really building things.
