We are going to be selling an ATV, to put that money towards another newer one; couple years ago, my uncle and I went in on a new 2014 polaris 550 (fantastic purchase btw). We have a second quad, a 99 polaris xplorer 300, that we decided we're gonna sell, and put that cash towards a newer, bigger extra quad.

My question is, do I need to get a title for it before I put it up for sale? My grandpa bought it and another one, in like 2002 at an estate auction, not sure if it came with a title or what, but whatever he got with the sale is long gone. Do ATVs need to have a title or can I write up a bill of sale?

Most of the dirt bikes I have bought and sold have been bill of sale only

You can do bill of sale, alot of people won't care. You don't really need a title to do anything but insure it.

After my little RZR debacle though, I'm not ever buying anything without a title again.

So I guess it depends on what the price point is. Sub-1000, I'd do BOS, more than that, you're probably going to have an easier sale with the title.

Oh, looking at around 2,000-2,500. Not sure what it's worth exactly, but just looking at what little else there is for comparables, think that's fair. It's had two owners, but another person doesn't know that. Older guy bought it new in 99, he passed away and his window auctioned off the home/stuff where my grandpa bought it in like 2001, ish? maybe 2000 can't remember 20 years ago lol

I think moving out here was the best decision I have ever made. Can't wait until summer, it's going to be great!

I did three of them over the last couple of years. Explain how you got it. Take a picture of the vin. Have a value in mind and they will tax you on it.

The Pilot around the corner sells Cinnabon. She'll be fine. :sonicjay:

Really the location is perfect. Lots of woods behind the house, and a farm field across the street. We have city water and sewer as well a natural gas. 10 minute drive to Port Huron.

My wife is amazed how much friendlier everyone is out here. We were in Meijer and she was telling me she need to find the coffee maker aisle, and another shopper passing by pointed it out.

This new house is so much 'tighter' than the old one. Furnace had been running an average of 5 hours per day to maintain 68-70 degrees (Nest thermostat has lots of info, cool toy!) Our first full month gas bill was under $30.00! Old house, we'd have been over $200 easy.

Most of all, I get home and the stress goes away instead of multiplying. :woot:

Actually sold the quad to the first guy that called on it. He didn't care about a title. Just wrote the VIN number on a bill of sale with all our info on it. I think the bill of sale got thrown away about 2 hours after we signed it.

Living somewhere that makes you happy is a fantastic thing. It shocks me how many people do not want to be home. For most, the home is the largest investment, why not have one you enjoy using. I like being in my home, I like being in my shop, etc.. etc...

Sooo......

Plow truck (89 GMC K2500) popped the radiator the other day, no big deal, they're cheap. Pick one up a Auto Zone for $125.

Go to pull it out, one trans line is rusty and splits open.... no big deal, rubber hose it.

However.....

It has an engine oil cooler as well. Top line comes loose with some penetrating oil and a little wiggling

Bottom line- nope. Cracks as soon as I try to turn it.

No big deal, Auto zone has the line for about $15.

I go to remove it and of course the quick connect will not release. Screw it, cut the line. Go to pull it out and THE BOTTOM LINE AT THE FILTER IS THE TOP LINE AT THE RADIATOR! Even though every picture and video shows the bottom line to the radiator to be the bottom one at the filter, this prick is backwards.

Upper hose is a special order.

So.....

I will be stopping at the old house to take the oil filter adapter off of one of the other 350's I have, and I am eliminating the oil cooler for now. Fuck that cooler.

I'm going out on a limb and say you don't need an oil cooler anyway if you're only using this to plow snow when it's cold as fawk out.
