Any news from Yukon about your right side stub shaft failure? Seems like they would be embarressed that a 30 yr old hub and stock u-joint outlasted 2 of thier shafts.......I've already decided to buy "not Yukons" based on your experience :thumb:

Ordered my tie rods, so tomorrow at work i will drill and thread some dom for the tie rods :woot:

 

i got my steering drilled and tapped, slow at work with little to nothing to do.

I usually make the jam nuts but i said to hell with it and ordered them from RuffStuff for $20 for all4 shipped.

 

Steering installed, Front shocks installed, Started on the front bumper, and played a little and flexed it out a little with the chain fall.

Front springs def need to get broken in though. Still not happy with the overall ride height....but i will have to most likely wait till after my trip south to change that.

So i ordered some jam nuts from RuffStuff about noon on saturday. They are out of California. They came via USPS about an hour ago........HOLY SHIT that was fast :thumb:

You may want to check with Moser Engineering for your shafts.
They work with a foundry just down the street from thier facility.
The quality of thier drag racing products has been top shelf for years and the d60 shaft I got from them looked great, although with 35's I am not loading it hard.

Saw the broken stub shaft yesterday, it twisted at the splines and sheared but it was cracked in the center......all while the stock hub and U-joint stayed intact.

 

A little pricey but I have been running the Warn Chromo's and CTM's on a D44 Spooled with a mild 302 on 38'' boggers with no problems. About 4 years worth of wheeling with that setup. Well I still have that setup just have not been wheeling in over a year . I dont beat on it stupid but I am not always easy on it either. The only thing I ever broke was a lockout. A few trips dopwn south with no problems. Just remember to grease your CTM's regularly.

Bring the greens in the last picture toward the center of the yellows in the 2nd picture about 18" apart at the ends.....so a smaller X, saves tube and still ties them together giving you a place to mount your spare. I like, nice drawing of what we talked about, I'm impressed :thumb:

 

BTW, who's blue B2 in the background? I swear you move more RBV's through than the ford assembly plant moves cars these days

I moved the rear leaf front hangars two inches forward to get my shackle angle better. I noticed at stuff the shackles flattened out and the leafs touched the bumper. All better now.

Heres the side of the rear section of cage.

Start of the Slider

I plan to tie the cab's exo cage to the slider (reason for the slider sitting so far from the rockers



The slider didn't end up where i thought it would in the rear. One cause of the frame curved up and two cause the tire to cab clearance wouldn't allow it where i thought it would go. Heres what i think i might do at the cab corners.

 

Exo is done as much as it will be before my trip to KY.....Got my jam nuts installed on my steering. Ran out of wire and gas for the welder Quick trip to TSC will fix that in the morning though.
