i built ealrier this year. It was awesome, i could start out in 5th gear in double low and that was when i had 3.73 gears, a tired ass motor and 36's. I don't know how awesome it will be with 4.88 gears and a strong motor. I had help from Nd4spd and Muddywater on the two sector shafts they help me build, but i snapped both of those. I just need to make a new shaft and make some design changes to how i built the first one. I went to an event with it and i was crawling hills alot of guys couldn't make and when they did make it they were rompin it pretty hard. I shove it in double low and walk right up with no wheel spin.

how are the sector shafts for strength? i started building one and the only thing i hear is people smoke that shaft and it's gonna be my DD so i quit workin on it.

i didn't have any problems with the shaft until i put the lo-unit in lo and the tcase in high, i busted two shafts before i learned i shouldn't have done that

i drove from Middleville to k-zoo and back with the doubler in, drove fine, but thats the only pavement driving i did with it in

heres a pic i have been looking at quite a bit. When i redo my fronts i'll be building similar upper bucker as these, and i like how he reused some of the stock spring hangars elsewhere on the truck

for those that do not know this is "punishers" rig from B2.org

some of what he did with the susp in that pic didn't end up working out after running it on the trails. Such as i know he bent the frt radius arms (he now runs rockwells), but i am only really looking at his frt coil bucket set-up

hey john looks killer... I stretched my wheel base 3.5" moved the front axle forward. i wouldnt touch the rear then ull have to tub it and stuff.

Still hasn't been torn down, but i got my hands on another set of front shafts and i am going over to a friends house with 40 acres and lots of obstacles. Curious to see how long it will take me to bust them shafts again

I sheared all but one bolt on each side of that shackle bracket on either side today. I used 3/8 grade 5 bolts, now they will be grade 8

i also toasted another LF axleshaft, i really need to buy some chrome moly shafts and get weaker hubs. My hubs are the ones that are all metal and indestructable. I need to get the weaker hubs and several spares that way i can just change the hubs quicker and less costly then shafts and joints each time

when i tear it down, i'll be replacing the front welded spiders with an aussie locker. I think with the aussie and chrome molly shafts i should be able to make the front survive longer then one trip

And some lifetime "junk hubs". Move the weak point already.....so we can wheel more than 20 min. at a time. :tonka: I will say, you gave it hell until it broke. :sonicjay: That stuff was nasty!

i got a bunch torn back down today, the front axle and suspension torn out from under neath it and the Front axle stripped to the bare housing. I got some pics but my comp is being gay tonite so i'll load them tomorrow.

I'm debating on tires, i currently have 36x13.50 15 bias Iroks on 15x10 rims and to be honest in the Michigan terrian i haven't been to happy with them. Even in the lightest of mud they seem to just Ball up into slicks and regardless of wheel spin they just do not seem to clean very well. I have been debating on getting a set of 38x13x16 TSL bias on some 16x8 rims and seeing how those do. Any opinions?
