i am doing a leaf spring swap, and i am looking for a locker for the front but will most likely buy an aussie. I am hoping to spend most the day on weds in the garage putting it back together. I am still waiting for the hi-steer arms i ordered. Hope to have them tomorrow but most likely weds or thurs

well i got two of the leaf brackets welded up and mocked onto the frame and one spring in position. I hope tomorrow to get the other spring mocked up so i can get the axle housing in place and weld my perches on. I am waiting on my hi-steer arms and to buy ball joints and u-bolts before i can really get the front axle set in place. Still haven't bought a locker. Hoping to find a used one so i can save a few bucks but looks like i will be buying a new aussie.

got the other leaf mocked into place and the axle under the leaves and the perches tacked into place. Tomorrow i hope to buy the u-bolts. Nothing will happen Fri. though, Fri is the evening i spend all nite with just me and my son. But saturday is my day off and i plan to be out there all day and taking pics and getting ALOT done.

yeah no weight on it yet, that'll be tomorrow, and the perches are just tacked to hold them in place. The front mounts are where they'll be when its done. I have left the rear mounts loose so i can adjust as needed. I have pushed the front axle forward about 3" from where it would sit stock in the fender. So that gives me room to work with locating the axle as i adjust the spring location. I did jack it up last nite, and it seemed to compress ALOT before it came off the stands so i may add a leaf to the front if needed. Beauty of leafs, i can add take away easy with no money involvement to get the right ride i want. Unlike coils wheres its trail and error with buying them.
