Worked on the upper rear link mounts today....welded in some pieces of 3/8".

 

And I think this might be where I place the rear axle in the chassis, I lifted the chassis to where I want it to sit at ride height. I have just about 22" from the ground to the bottom of the chassis. With the rear axle there I should be real close to 36" long upper links.

 

How many gallons is that and how big is the "reserve" :teehee:

Actually its the same size as the gas tank I was previously using, and I haven't run out of gas in quite a while :finger: Kyle has had more issues then I have as of late :teehee:. I don't think I ever ran out of gas int he eb, truggy yeah.

 

I think I am gonna pick up some 3/4" tubing to build my trans tunnel frame and hope to pick up some aluminum soon to start build my floors. I don't wanna build my seat mounts till I know where the floor is gonna sit on height. Gonna order some brackets to attach the floor from AandA. I also clocked my tcase down one spot.

 

Ran my fuel pump like that for about a year with no issues and it wasnt loud at all.

 

I also ordered an orbital mount today for my steering.

can the cell could be dropped down and still clear axle housing, drive shafts, links, etc..?

any little bit helps for center of gravity :blah:

 

Yeah it can drop down all the way to the bars and not have any issues.

Why not set it down on the axle at "full bump", then move the chassis up to where you want to set your shocks up travel wise, and let that determine belly height?

So I was putting together my rear lower chassis end link mount. Comes in 6 pieces, I wasn't paying attention and assmebled it wrong. Had one of the plates backwards (yes it fit together). Pretty much welded done before I noticed :whiz: bracket is still usable but not right. Ordered another one. If this was any of my old builds I would of reused it.

Sold my van yesterday, time to shop :sonicjay:

Gotta call tomorrow about aluminum sheets for floor and firewall locally and stop at the local steel spot for some plate. Hoping to get tube for my upper links, my new to me front 60, and order atleast my rear aluminum lower links.

Allstar/Lane auto sells 0.040 Aluminum sheets if your local place cant come through.

 

I found a local guy with sheets at $1.50 pound. Every business I have inquired with is $2.25+ a pound.

Hoping he still has some sheets. He has them in 5'x12' sheets.

Picked up two sheets of 6061 aluminum 5'x12'

And 14 ft of 2" .250 dom for upper links.

Nope lol, I spent 4 hrs working on it this morning and scrapped the whole times work :sonicjay:

I did pick up my new front 60 tonight :naughty:
And I have a bunch of materials and parts now. Gonna go back out after dinner and try and accomplish something.

 

Just got done welding 100 nuts to all my trick tabs :whiz:.
