I agree, idiots everywhere on those weekends. It wasn't a surprise, just proof that this guy is not as careful as his buddy claims.

A co-worker witnessed this jump and claimed that welds broke, if so it's not a pro anything. Go to Bark River some of the Pro2's & Pro 4's jump that far of the hill almost every lap and keep right on going. A neighbor was up there and had a dirt bike land on the front of his truck while at a complete stop and his insurance co paid the dirt bike riders medical bills just to avoid a lawsuit.

same old shit different day. i have probobly spent more time on the dunes then anybody on here. yea been up there since the early 70's. its why i moved there.love the place.but these threads are so dumb. there is at least 20 on here every year. everyone tells everyone else how they should act, talk, drive, turn, jump and back up.

There were some good jumps that year. I measured out 160ft a group of us were jumping on the second ridge back from test hill. It went about 80ft from the lip then stepped up about another 8 and formed a nice table top with a gradual down slope. Like you said it was 5th gear wide open on a 450 with your distance limited by the wind more than anything. It was such a nice down slope it didn't really matter where you landed.
Let me just say that........
You fuckers are crazy! I don't like being 10' off the ground :sonicjay:

Yea 2 wheels. I have seen mark watros get some decent air in his f150 and the pro basketball player in a real trophy truck.

I saw your brother go 40 ft in his buggy chad..lol. they did get some big air in rock buggy that day.

That was a big jump.but I agree w everyone else.he is not real smart.u wanna go big u need a nice downhill to land.not flat land it and break everything.

No shit. I bitched about the truck being underbuilt for that jump and not a Pro2 as claimed, and that he drives like an idiot based on personal experience, but I know nothing about the guy's personality or anything. He may be a cool guy and get along great with me and my friends. He's obviously got common interests with many of us, so why automatically assume he's a douchebag?

I can't bag on this guy. Give me 4 wheels and a helmet and the risk assessment portion of my brain gets much smaller. Add roll cage and it pretty much disappears. I don't think I would go wide open around the full park when there are people everywhere but I would have no problem hucking the thing off the top of that hill with a spotter. That could also very well be an old pro lite chassis retired for play duty. If the rear clip was triangulated as well as the sst chassis I build parts for at work it would have went ass over tea kettle after it augured into the sand instead of taco-ing the frame and setting down nicely. Well planned crumple zone if you ask me......

Who cares, the guy is out there having fun and hurt nothing but his own rig. He also has a silver ford raptor that he constantly beats the hell out of, so breaking things doesn't seem to be a major concern of his. Yes, he may have more balls than driving skill...but that's entertainment for the rest of us.

I don't understand why people are praising him like some sort of hero for blowing a jump and trashing his truck, but the same goes for the people hating on him for having fun out there...as long as he has a spotter for jumping, follows the park rules, and hurts nobody but himself....let him be. It's natural selection at its best, eventually...they weed themselves out.

I agree with all of this, except for the fact that he doesn't have a spotter most of the time and regularly endangers other people in the park. The same goes for lots of other people out there, but this is the only guy we're currently discussing.
