You really need to pay attention to the threads on safety instead of the drama filled ones. You(as in AJ "waste of oxygen" Hall) can keep using a chain and strap hooked together........everyone else should steer clear of attaching hard, heavy objects to slingshots.....idiot

Wow calm down you overreactive sex deprived idiots. Thats what I was taught. And how often does a good strap break. I have put mine through some stuff and its never broke or anything.
Ive seen brand new straps taken out of the package minutes before break from 1 good hard tug. Chains have no give, they cant take and abrupt forces or their links fail and become projectiles. A strap has elastic properties given by the materials its made out of, plastic. A chains memory is near non existent in a high force situation because no matter how big a chain is, every link is the weakest link. Cables and straps are stronger because the fibers/stands have more redundancy.

I rarely chime in on you, but I pray that anyone you wheel with knows better. How you gonna feel explains to your dead buddies mom it was your idea to put a chain at the end of a slingshot and tell your friend you know what your talking about. You shouldn't even be allowed to breed. Maybe you didn't know but a local guy from round here tried that not to long ago, he's dead. He always was lending out straps and was against chains but was in a pinch for time and used one. His kids go to bed without saying good night to him now, and he had a hell of a lot more brains than you ever will. Leave the chains to hillbilly steps and tire swings. Go buy a damn strap and avoid watching one of your friends die you ignorant asshole.

Don't start calling me an asshole man. I was simply told it was ok as long as you had one strap. I have two big straps that aare plenty good enough for what I need. I was just saying for him, not me. Thats a sad story. I have heard a similar one that happend, but it was with a winch cable that snapped.

Really not trying to rag on ya here man, but if ya got the brains to think about what could happen you wouldn't say that.

For future reference NEVER use a chain... and all will be ok! :beerbang:

Do your wheeling at the Mounds. There are challenges for all levels of vehicle preparation. The nice thing about the Mounds is that most people that hang out there are more than willing to help out. If you go on a Sunday there are usually some people from We Got Mud hanging around. They are a good group if you treat them right. Wheel recklessly or cause problems and they'll leave you hanging.

it's pretty basic, trial and error will tell you in a matter of seconds. test with the clutch disengaged. you'll get forward, reverse or nothing. iirc on my old ramsey it is 8:00 and 10:00 pins for one way and 8:00 and 4:00 for the other
picture wasn't for me, I was suggestting picture for stupid.

SoRRY GUYS THE CHAIN THING WAS STUPID. I HAVE NEVER DONE IT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS OKAY. IM SORRY.

it is OK if you know how to use it. Most people don't. It doesn't look like you know how.

Try to drop your dislike for wegotmud and take an extra second to read that post. It looks like you misunderstood what he was saying.

I dont hope death on anyone, but I hope your strap breaks and the chain hits you hard enough to knock a tooth or something out and teaches you a valuable lesson very cheaply.
