Need another positive post in this festering mess. Tired of reading about gas, economy, and general shithead banter. If you saved a whale, let's hear it. Opened a door for a lady pushing a stroller, great. Overtipped a waitress who appears to be a hard-working single mother, even better.

$15k in casino cash for the most positive, uplifting post in this thread.

I just loaned out 4, 5 gallon gas cans and my step ladder to my bud. His brother was being a prick and wouldn't loan him his truck. I offered up my truck for my bud to haul the gas cans and step ladder, but he declined.

I said hi to a couple of teenagers. A chick with tourrets syndrome, and a dood with cheek plugs who were walking past my house while I was mowing the lawn. I of course shut the mower off momentarily to let them pass and to say hi.

I just paid $500 to have a dead guy cremated that committed suicide. I didn't know him at all and had investigated his death. The family didn't have the cash and I took a liking to them, so what the hell......

I took my wife to the greenhouse to buy some plants for around the house. while there, I let my son play in the mud, pet the mangy dogs there, put rocks in his mouth and basically let him be a boy, just like every other day.

I see so many parents sissifying their kids by not letting them be kids, especially the boys. I let my boy do boy stuff, just like when we were growing up.

Awesome man, you will find work, getting married was the second best thing to ever happen to me, and having a child was the third, get ready for an awesome ride! When my wife was prego with our first kid, everyone always told me that it would change everything (but they said it in such a negative way). What they DIDN'T tell me is that it changed everything for the better. Trust me, when you see this kid, you are gonna feel something you never felt before.

I try to do something nice whenever I can. For a long time, I thought money would bring me happiness. In a way, it has, but not in the way I had expected.

For those of you that don't know, I am a dentist. And no, I'm not filthy rich. I do alright, for sure, but the economy has been hitting us all.

I can't begin to count the amount of "free" dentistry that I do. People down on their luck, especially my fixed income elderly patients. It drives my staff a little nuts when I spend an hour and a half with someone and charge them a pittance of what that time is worth. But, it makes me feel good. I guess it's one way for me to give back.

We are opening a dental clinic in Livingston county, should be open this fall.

VINA dental

We are trying to fund this entirely internally, with a full volunteer staff. It's a good thing, and there is certainly need for the services that we will be providing.

I have found out that having money doesn't make me happy, but having money to help others makes my fucking day.

I told a guy he was being a prick at work. He didn't know it. I may have saved his life, because then he bitched about me for a long time. But, he stopped being a prick long enough to bitch about me, so everyone was grateful.

While at the mounds on Sunday, every time my group stopped to take pics or someone got stuck I spent a good part of my time picking up others garbage and truck parts and cigarette buts from the trails and water. Got about 2 large bags full. My purpose was to show my son and my lil nephew that if you enjoy something you must not take it for granted. And that is everyones responsibility to make sure our trails and full size user areas are clean and not full of litter so we dont have them taken away:thumb:
