Picked up a used JD 2320 last year, I couldn't handle the costs of new tractors no matter what brand. It had 200 hours on it, and I got the FEL and belley mower and I'm very happy with it.

AAA screwed me over big time after having their insurance for nearly 20 years. Fuck that company. I have Progressive for everything now and I'm happy.

I've had progressive auto insurance for like 12 years, something like that. Never had an issue with them that wasn't caused by myself. I use them for RV insurance which is only like $115 a year.

I tried a little while ago to look into insurance for the kubota, but a couple places I looked didn't have any type of coverage for it, so it's just covered by my homeowners. Though I would like to get actual insurance on it as it spends lots of time not at my home property

I'm told that homeowners covers it while at home. It does not cover it while on a trailer or offsite. You might want to check with your insurance before you wish you had.

It does not cover it if the tractor is not actually on the home property; I don't have homeowners insurance on the camp property, just liability.

I went back and read through the emails with my agent for when I was setting up my insurance. It's through homeowners but is set up as a "separate schedule"/itemized coverage. Confirmed it gives offsite premise physical damage coverage(I specified accidental damage, collision, theft, upset, fire, and in-transit), but not offsite liability coverage. 3 years ago that cost me $142/yr, I assume it's gone up some since then but didn't bother to check. Some people set up a powersports policies that have additional coverage including liability, but I didn't bother to go that route.

The tractor was delivered today and can’t wait to start putting it to work! As far as insurance, and I know this isn’t going to work for everyone but, I financed some of the tractor and the loan company offered insurance at a very competitive rate that was about 1/6 of what AAA quoted me. They also said when the loan is paid, they will offer to continue covering.

Dear GreatLakesTractor,

My wife is talking about spring projects. She wants to smooth out a few sections of lawn and seed them in the spring. There's some old ruts and potholes in those sections, and I'm trying to figure out what tool would be best.

Neighbor has a harrow drag that I could borrow. Not sure if that's aggressive enough to take out ruts. We borrowed it to smooth out our yard after some work years ago and then used a burned off mattress spring for final smoothing before throwing seed.

Was wondering if a box blade would be the ticket, or something else? Looks like I can buy someone else's box blade problem for around $500. Might do better with some patience.

What kind of harrow? Just the glorified chain link fence style?

A spike-tooth drag that uses railroad spikes is what I use for finishing, when I'm trying to clean up a mess I use a spring-tooth harrow drag.

I hit the scrap pile hard a few years back and glued this little guy together I run my winch cable under my quad to operate the wheel arms up and down works like a charm. I have a million 3/8 x 1.5" bolts as teeth. which can get clogged up if involved in too much grass.

it has spikes. It’s more rigid than chain link but not as solid as RBB street sign relocation project.

But how does that work on lumpy grass lawn? The last time I borrowed the harrow drag, we were smoothing around the recent barn construction and it worked well. I guess I could start with it, and if it doesn't have desired result, I can go heavier.
Not sure if this question was to me.

I have cleared an area that was over run with grass. Required a lot of pull. I had to put the truck in 4Lo and nearly got stuck a couple of times.

I was showing the video to give ideas for someone to make their own. This one is 8' wide and super heavy. Not sure if a gas truck could pull it, especially when the spikes are new.

I built it like these. Except I used 3/4" rod for spikes welded at a 4" spacing, sticking down 2.5" below first bar.
