I'll put this in general.

Today i parked my Samurai in my driveway, which has a hill, Put it in 1st gear and the little bugger started to roll backwards down the hill slowly. You could feel it pulsate with with i assume was engine compression. Which would have been rotating in the direction it shouldn't. Never had this problem before, doesn't seem to do it in reverse.

so, is my trans fuXoreD, Clutch being heavily worn, or i should just stop parking on hills

My parking brakes work great forward, not so much in reverse, border-lining not at all. Hence I do depend on mine being in gear (though it's a Ranger)

I'm not so sure it's the trans thats doing it, as the forces are getting all the way to the engine (chugging with compression strokes). my first guess is a compression check, maybe worn valves or rings, etc. Low compression = easy to turn

Reverse is (usually) a lower gear than first, which would be why first could roll more easily..
