With the aid of the dining room table a camera tripod and some hilldilly, I was able to mark my reference points and get my measurements for the beam between the kitchen and dining room. Sometimes when working in a crooked old farm house you need to get a little creative .

Meanwhile down in the shop I have been getting some trim ready for windows, strange how it looks like a board but it cuts like a hundred dollar bill.

I even got a few in place this weekend

Why did you need the measurements for the beam?

Nice work on the trim! Everything is coming along nicely it seems!

When, I installed the beam I measured up From the floor an equal distance only to find later that the floor was way off. So when, I built the cabinets I had to shim the shit out of them to get my granite, level now that my granite is level, I want the trim around the beam level also it was only off 1 and 3/8 inch over a 13'-6" span. I don't know if anyone would ever see it but I would know and it would drive me nuts knowing I could have set it level. This will allow for tighter joints in the corners of the trim when everything is connecting at a true 90.
