So I pulled a ZJ steering box and was wondering if the power steering pump, brackets and steering linkage from the zj bolt into my xj also? What other cheap upgrades can I do? I've allready did the electric fan thing and am trying to figure out what I want to do with the steering.......

I didn't think the ZJ box was any upgrade, I know it's not well respected among ZJ owners. If a ZJ box will bolt in look at getting your hands on a 4-bolt Grand Wagoneer box.

Well it's a upgrade for me because mine was broke. I got the box, pump,steering linkage and brackets for 37.00 so I can't beat that. It's only 3 bolts so i'm not sure where the 4 bolt thing came from. These bolts are a little bigger then the XJ bolts though.

My all time favorite mod for an XJ is this: If you are tall, flip the rear view mirror upside down. Holy shit. Its the best thing ever.

I wasn't saying the ZJ box is a 4-bolt, I was saying if the ZJ box fits so will the box from a GW and the GW box has 4 mounting holes.

More money then I want to spend right now. I'm going to weld some plate to the rail for now and run the ZJ box. I might buy one of the steering box braces.

Hmm I must be thinking of something else.....Someone had a steering brace of some sort posted awhile back and it looked like it braced the steering box itself on the inside somehow. I might be wrong and I can't find the post anywhere.

Are you talking about the tie rod or steering box or both?
