OK I am sick of this snap crackle popin axle on the front of my 95 XJ. It's a HP 30 with a lockrite and yukon 4.10 gears and axle shafts. The ujoints and ball joints were replaced last month along with the brake pads. The locker gears and axle shafts have less then 2000 miles on them. It also has greasable outer axle shaft seals.
I am tired of hearing this thing pop and snap like it's going to explode everytime I go wheeling. Been told by numerous people and the tech guys at lockrite that this is normal. Well I hate it!
I want to trade for a HP D30 with a CAD must have 4.10 gears and be in as good of condition as mine, perfer one with posiloc cable for the CAD. I would also take a d44 with 4.10 gears as long as it will bolt right into my xj.

If you're interested I will trade you my open spiders for your locker. IIRC it shouldn't be a hard swap.

i will give you $130 shipped for the locker... can find you an open carrier, and gears if interested.. i would also be interested in your xj axle shafts if you went with something completely different, etc...

I have and Axle with the cad not sure what the gears are though...I could get you a set of 4.10's and put in it if you need it done or just give you the gears and you can do it

Well I don't have the tools to set up gears so that would have to be done. How old are the seals and bearings in the axle? This axle is basically all new so I don't want to trade for a old beatup leaky axle.

Just buy an arb or e-locker that way when you don't need it you can turn it off. with the Disconnect you always have a load on the drivers axle. Or just put a dana 60 with arb and be done

I wish I could afford any of that stuff. This is a Budget build meaning my wife controls the budget!

That sucks. I guess if i was in your shoes and didn't like the pop and snap. I would pull the locker and put the spiders back in it. It would be the fasted fix. if that is the way you want to go i might have some i would have to look and they would be free.

Thanks I appriciate the offer but I still have a set. I got the damn thing out and put back togeather, getting ready to go test it out and see if it still sounds like I'm ridin thru the hood.

Pulled the locker and not even a creak!! I can't believe all that noise was coming from that locker!! I might be able to live with it now that I know for sure it's the locker.

I would trade this axle without the locker for a HP 30 with CAD, 4.10 gears....This axle has new yukon shafts and gears, new ball joints, new break pads.......
