Reading Immortals thread about his car being stolen, made me wonder how many people are driving high mileage cars. lets see them, tell us the mileage, if you got it new or used and what you have HAD to fix on it. Not regular maintenance just repairs you had to make to keep the car on the road.

Mine: 03 Jetta TDI, I got it used with 92,000 miles in 05. I drive it every day and I still get 47 MPG. currently 230,000 miles

I have had to replace: Radiator, clutch, brakes, wheel bearings, a motor mount and tires. I have done other things by choice for preformance or PM but not essential to keep the car on the road
these are the most recent pics after I replaced the Passenger doors due to being hit in a round-a-bound!:sonicjay:

My 1988 Suburban 300,000 miles on it, replaced every u joint with spicers, all new shocks, all new tires, new exhaust, new battery, new alternator, new belts and hoses, all new ball joints, new radiator and fan. With the exception of a few things I also replaced parts by choice for performance or PM but not essential to keep the car on the road.

My 91 cherokee 233,000 miles, all original drive train, it was rolled over 50,000 miles ago so I had to fix the roof. Now that the springs are dead its finally getting a lift :thumb:

My 89 K1500 plow truck 206,500 miles all original except for rear disc brakes.

My wifes 97 dodge neon 212,00 miles original motor & trans but the list of repaired parts is to long to list.

I had a 90 Econoline with 290k with only a rear axle replacement and consumables such as tires, spark plugs, brakes, belts, etc but no other major repairs. It had no rust either (came from FLA)... donated it when i moved and couldnt keep a hillbilly amount of vehicles in my new house (HOA rules....)
