You want something smaller to zip around in, or something a bit bigger to toss your stuff in? You could have a Peterbilt as a commuter but it wouldn't be practical. Between the two choices, I choose the Outback.

Honestly, my fiance drives an 02 300m from exit 1 to 36th ave off of 96. It does ok in the snow, but the best car I ever had in snow was my 05 saab 93. I would not hesitate to get another 93 for that drive, but the chrysler is a solid performer as well.

Just got done looking into all of those for the girlfriend, including the volvo. She came home with a fully loaded 07 caddilac srx4. its pretty bad ass for a jacked up goofy looking station wagon.
