I have been a long time fan of Firefox (I dumped usage of IE several years ago... and am SHOCKED when I see people still using it.)

I recently reluctantly installed and MADE myself use Google Chrome because I heard so many great things about it. And after a few days of usage, I'm actually quite pleasantly surprised with it. I downloaded an extension (basically the "add-on" equivalent of Firefox) called Xmarks, and it synced all my bookmarks/passwords/history/etc from Firefox, so I was able to immediately begin using Chrome as I did Firefox.

It feels quick and lightweight, and I finally see what people have been talking about for a while now, I like it.

So what do you use and why?

(BTW, for those interested in reading about other browsers... here's a review/performance test of the top browsers. http://internet-browser-review.toptenreviews.com/)

Firefox, though I dont know if its my computer or the internet giving me troubles. Sometimes I get "Server reset" errors, etc.

I wish they would hurry up with flash player 64bit!

When I had a PC, I used FF and loved it. I was really into the customizable appearance and the add on that let you snag any video or sound playing in the background.

Now that I have macs, I use safari. I have FF on my iMac, but I rarely use it.

I currently use IE v8, and I haven't used anything except IE fo years. I've heard all the raving about Firefox, so I went to the comparison link shown at the beginning of this thread.

I see that Firefox is listed as #1 and IE is listed as #3. However, I don't understand why. The speed computations on that link show that IE is faster than Firefox in all the categories tested. So I have a few questions that I hope someone here can answer for me.

(1) What is it about Firefox that makes it so much better than IE. I don't mean anything about grabing videos or music, as I don't do that stuff.

(2) Could a person have BOTH Firefox AND Internet Explorer on the same computer, and use either one? I don't mean at the same time.

(3) Can my Favorites from IE be imported to Firefox? How about cookies? Such things as signon ID's and passwords for various websites and forums?

Thanks,

--Bob
