Any one know of a place near Troy/Rochester to get an intake blasted to clean it up some?

Also need a very small repair on the aluminum that would need to be done.

RJ, do you have it already off and stripped down to just the casting? When you say blasted, you just want it clean? Take it to an engine place and have them hot tank it. Or just brake clean and a brush, aluminum usually cleans up real nice.

A reputable engine builder ought to be able to handle the welding, *if* its possible to be welded, since its cast.....

It is off and stripped down. Just want it cleaned up real well.

As for the 'welding', has a small spot in one of the water outlet spots going to my temp gauge that I wanted to fill in and smooth out a bit. Seems it may be a little thin there and don't want any more problems with this motor.

Some hot tank solutions aren't good for aluminum, some are. They'll know the right way to clean it. Sorry I don't have any specific places.

If it Is tough to weld you can gas weld it with this fill wire that I have. It works great on really shitty cast alumunim. I have used it on all kinds of stuff and it works great.

I've done a fair amount of welding on cast aluminum at a previous job. How thick is the base material where the weld needs to be?

If it's die cast then you're SOL, sand cast isn't a big deal, just needs to be really clean.
