Actually Yellowstone is a geologically active place known as a supervolcano. It also houses something like 75percent of the worlds active geysers. Much of yellowstone is in a crator(like your face) which was formed from a huge eruptions some 65000 years ago. am i reading that right? there were 37 earthquakes in a period of 4 days?
I think that's a pretty good speculation.It's speculated that if an eruption were to occur in yellowstone, it would be nothing short of a global killer.

Which mentions the number per year of earthquakes in general, but doesn't give anything to compare the past few days to directly in terms of frequency and size.See post #14
