Read this online the other day that Walmart will no longer sell handgun ammo and rifle ammo.
Wonder how many will not be shopping at Walmart? and will this choice affect their business at all?
They were my go to for 9mm and 5.56

They are ending the sale of handgun ammunition, which doesn't make any sense to me.

They aren't allowing open carrying either, but still allowing CC...again..wtf sense does that make?

It won't change anything for their sales in the long run.

They will still sell rifles, shotguns, and their ammo but won't sell ar ammo or handguns+ammo. I went and bought 500 more rounds of 9mm yesterday from them just because it's cheap and I'm an ammo hoarder.

Yup, you're right, this bone head move makes no sense at all. They are caving in to the pressure from the left about trying to implement more kinds of gun control. Seems to me that this is an infringement on our second amendment rights.
Again law abiding gun owners will be affected by actions like this not criminals.

I talked with the guy there and he said they will sell what they have and not bring in any more of the AR and handgun ammo. So I bought 200 9mm, 200 5.56 and 200 .22
Ill check back in a few days and see if they have any left and grab some more.

Walmart is about as Republican as you can get.

Walmart only cares about Walmart, it doesn't even care about its Republicanness or its customers.

The only reason I went to Walmart is to get 2-cycle oil for the boat and ammo. Tens of thousands of dollars worth in recent history. It tapered off this year because they forced you to scan your ID to buy starting in January. I liked the cash+carry aspect because no one knew how much I have or was buying. I'm pretty sure I'm on a list somewhere regardless.

Might as well buy it online. I know margins on ammunition are tight anyway, but it's one more reason not to go there. Nothing in the store I buy is cheaper there than at Meijer. In fact, I'll probably go tomorrow and buy up the last of it and their Mercury oil and then probably won't be in there for years.

No. The second amendment, just like the rest on the bill of rights, pertains to what the federal government can or can't do, not private businesses.

How do we not know that farther up the chain someone(gov) is greasing the palm of someone to stop selling ammo or guns?
I know it sounds a little conspiracy like but who knows. This kind of behavior falls right in line with their agenda. To disarm the populace a little at a time. By limiting ammo, not selling certain things or price increasing to make it unaffordable for most.

A private company choosing to not selling something, that's an infringement of the second amendment? Pretty sure that's not how that works.

If you ask me, WalMart is taking advantage of the mob mentality and is going to see a HUGE increase in gun and ammo sales. I do believe that all it has to do with the "gun control" BS is they saw an opportunity to make some bomb ass sales, and they're taking it; while at the same time making them more sympathetic to the morons out there that want GC.

What could be more perfect, appeal to the delicate sensibilities of the left, and use the hysteria that the right gets to make a shit load of sales of "going out of stock" guns and ammo.

This is a major shift. Freedom is being lost by mainstream thought. Good people are just sitting by and being nice. The loud leftest are winning because good men are silent.

Firearms rights have been being infringed on since 1934, it's not going to stop now because people share angry memes on Facebook lol.

It worked, i bought two boxes of .357 today.

But i am going shooting with my son tomorrow :teehee:. He likes my old single action revolver, hard to miss when the barrel is 6.5" long.

I bought every last box of .40SW they had today and as far as I can tell no one had bought any since I was there last week. All the 9mm and .45ACP was gone when I left, but there wasn't much to begin with as all the cheap stuff was already gone. Guy looked at me kind of funny but he knows me when he sees me in the store and just follows me to the cabinet.

I'll go back next week and see if there is anything new that was in transit. The one I go to get their deliveries on Tuesday and Thursday but they ship out on Thursday and Monday. I figure the 44mag and 380 will be there until they clearance it out.

I also bought 5 gallons of Mercury 2-cycle oil which is all they had on the shelf.

I had enough ammo for the apocalypse but might as well get started on the apocalypse after that one.

The current admin would not be the ones to be working at taking away gun rights from Americans.

In a round about way it kinda is but not directly. They do have their right to not sell ammo or guns. Like what Dicks did. It really hurt their business. But Walmart is pretty big so it may not affect them too much.
If they do make their stores gun free zones it will keep gun owners/carriers out and make targets of shoppers. Maybe they should change their name to Target.

No, there is no round about way. It's not infringing on anyone's rights. You have the right to own and use firearms, that is all the second amendment says. It says nothing about buisnesses must carry ammunition.

That logic is exactly what the "snowflakes" use to cry hate speech and all that other BS they spew.

Stupid decisions like that will always have a consequence, and like Dick's, their sales went way down; IE consequence. Walmart will see a boom in sales while they sell out "current inventory", and might see a small drop in sales while the "diehards" boycott Walmart on principal, but that will quickly peeter out after people forget and next big story happens on the news.

As I said a few posts ago, nothing will change in the long run for Wally World.
