I have a friend that rents a E250 from Enterprise everytime he has to tow (he swaps a hitch into it and wiring in about 30 minutes). I am considering getting a boat from down south and the shipping costs are stupid high. Does anyone know of any rental companies that might have vans or trucks with hitchs on them?

I can get a uhual truck for $450 (Includes up to 5 days of use and 1368 miles) but I hate uhaul.

Don't some SUVs come standard with the receiver hitches integrated and tucked under the bumper cover (I'm thinking newer Suburbans and Trailblazers).

Not sure if rental places do passenger vehicles one-way like that though.

How big a boat? Can you get away with the bumper hitch - most trucks/vans come with them standard now. As long as you're under 4000 lbs or so may be good.

Otherwise, check out Budget. They rent vans that are often equipped to tow cars on dollies.

Enterprise has Tahoe's and Suburbans. The newest body style all come with hitches. I have used them to tow stuff up north before.

just rent a uhaul savana van or sierra pickup and slap a ball hitch on it. they always have a GMC/chevy 1500 laying around.
budget vans (box vans) usually have hitches on them already i think.

fleet vehicles are often sold without standard equipment. i work for an automotive supplier and a lot of standard equipment is deleted on fleet vehicles unless the customer orders them. notice that state trooper tahoes do not have hitches even though its standard equipment on customer models.
