I have pulled the codes but can't find a list for anything newer then the 97 tj's online....

any help?

Thanks, I called the zone, they are blaming it on a faulty gas cap, of course.....

I looked at the TJ codes here

and they are not matching what my hunch was nor what autozone recommended, of course we all know about the 'zone.

1) it might help if you tell us what the code is

2) it might be the gas cap. seen it at the dealership almost every day. people fill up, put the cap on and give it a light flick and then the light comes on. they say it needs to click at least 3 times. i usually just grab it and make a full turn when i put my gas cap on. i also have a friend that lives a few streets away with an 06TJ and he had the same problem.

I've frequently gotten gas cap errors on my 2001 WJ

Tell us the code as it is OBD II, and as that list states the codes you posted will work for jeeps up to 97

if it's a PO456 its most likely gas cap....

P0456 is usually a small leak, where the system can draw a vacuum, but not sustain it. Like the cap is not tight.

P0457 is set when the cap is off...or the system has a gross leak (line unplugged) or the vapor management valve is not working

All of this is somewhat irrelevant since he has not posted what code is stored.

Those codes say the same thing that the 'zone did. I will try a different gas cap, look for possible leaks etc. And continue to ignore it.
