I will soon be purchasing a 350 700r4 and np241 combo to run in my cj. my question can you flip a np241 to be passenger drop? my jeep already has the dana 300 should i stick with that and buy an adapter? or sell the 241 and get a 205 after cutting my input shaft...looking for most belly room as possible.

I don't think you can flip the 241. The good thing is that there are t cases that fit a 700 that are passenger drop. Like a 208. You can also cut about 1" off your output shaft and bolt a 205 from a th350 right up to it. If you buy an adapter it will require complete disassembly of the 700 to put in new output shaft

5so my best bet would be to sell my dana 300 and the 241 and get a np205 and shorten my output shaft and that will bot right up with no adapter correct? id rather do that and save some underbelly room than to go with the 208

There is a clocking ring available for the 208. I used it and it is nearly flat in my YJ. There is also a cable shifter available for the 208 so linkage is not an issue.

I would use the 300. Twin stick capable, lower gears available, everybody and their brother makes parts for it, it's compact....to me it makes the most sense
