this is more of a mental and physical race. there is a strategy involved in these kinds of races. not only is it challenging your rig it is you as well that is challenged. these are awesome races because you don't sit there for hours waiting your turn to go your going all the time. i would rather wheel for 4 hours that wait 3 hours for my turn to go for maybe a half hour run and then break and be screwed.

I honestly don't care what they put in the course, I had a blast as a coplilot last year and am waiting impatiently to finally have my jeep in this series. I do think a few rocks would be fine, but tight and twisty trails is perfectly OK with me. Altho the most fun I had last year were those damn whoops!

ok everyone lets not forget this is THE TRAILMASTER CHALLENGE not the rock crawl challenge nor the extreme truck challenge. it's not our fault that you built a single purpose rig that can't make it through the trees instead of a well rounded rig that is able to be used more places. you don't see a mud dragster at the rock crawl do you? a trail challenge is just that, a natural (not man made) trail. when you go out in the woods there is not a concrete wall to over come.
you didn't see me complaining when i entered my grand cherokee at drummond last year and i still placed 5th for that one day and made it up the bonus climb and got 8th place over all with my little 33 inch tires and STOCK rig. LEARN HOW TO FING DRIVE YOUR RIG! or don't be scared to hit a tree or two. or in my case rolled a time or two.
for what it's worth the course should not change because of the prizes that are at the end of the 4 races for those who place in the top at all the races. that is only fair for those that are in for the long haul. nascar doesn't change mis track everytime they race there. if the big boys want rocks that is fine, but put the little guys first for their own 4 hour race because i see lots of back ups where it's going to be hard (i.e winching, breakdowns) that is where the bottle neck will be and we little guys will be sitting there waiting for a chance to get around and continue racing. i understand you cannot please everyone and that is why there are other comps out there ( rock crawl, mud running, king of hammers etc.)
this is one of the best things out there right now. you watch in the next few years this could be huge. the best thing about this is the people who come to twisted to do regular wheeling will see they too can do these races. that is why i run mine so more people with stock rigs will do this sort of stuff and when you break you can go right to the u-pull it and get parts.
i just want to make this clear i'm not saying you guys can't drive because i've watched a lot of you do awesome driving.

Well put.:thumb:

the course this year, wasn't as challenging as last years. Plus having the rock bowl and the large concrete wall gave the spectators something to watch. Most of the course cannot be seen because you are in the woods for 20 minutes, but having that being right in the middle of the course was a blast last year. and for the love of god get rid of the f-ing stumps or cut the trees a little closer to the ground!!!!!! That was the worst part of the course this year. We will be back though had a great time. getting lapped by the unlimited vehicles was crazy!!!

this iwas my spotters first time at a comp. we had so much fun we were laughing all the way and having a great time. hoping more people join the fun. i remember you saying that last year about the whoops. how come mike wasn't there?

if the course wasn't challenging why so many broken rigs? i think with that attrition rate it was challenging otherwise there would have been more rigs running

:teehee:I'm only laughing now, I'm sure come June, i'll be agreeing with you. But, then again, maybe that's where the strategy comes in (fast is slow?)

i agree with the spectator view as i was a spectator last year. i wound up walking the whole course while the race was going on to get a better view of the action. in hind sight that was not the right thing to do as this year i was a driver and could see the dangers. i also had faith that the drivers knew what they were doing as well.
i agree about the stumps as well. that is what broke my lower control arm off. i thought i hit my diff but it was the control arm guess that's why it hopped like it did after hitting. that brings back the point of driving your rig not only did you have to worry about the other drivers but had to worry about stumps as well.

Don't know, from what I heard he was supposed to ride copilot for Erin. Not sure if his jeep is together or not.

im pretty sure your contradicting yourself in your own explanation. saying in capitol letters to "LEARN TO DRIVE YOUR FING RIG" and then saying "im not saying you guys cant drive"

make up your mind dude. of course you liked the course. you were in the smaller tired class. But last year when this race was introduced there WAS rocks and some harder obstacles to run. So saying its unfair to change the course makes no sense. this isnt nascar cause nascar fucking sucks.

it just sounds like some people were expecting it to have more challenging obstacles like it did last year. I wasnt there and thats why ive had so many questions about the race so i can plan for june when i will be there. whether its just dirt and woods or rocks im going to be ready with bells on.

i made it 1700 feet and watched the rest of the day.i mentioned everyone starting at the same time across the field and funnel into a corner. that would be interesting...the track will be all changed for the next one. dale was not sure how hard to make it with the 35 and under class. i have a couple of complaints but they have already been discussed. i am sure twisted will get it figured out.
remember this is only the second event and the first for 2 different classes, witch everyone wanted..so let's make the suggestions and have it be a better event.
that sucks. feel bad you put in all that time and effort and have something like that go wrong. time for that 5.3 :bdr2:

you never know the next race may have more rocks for the b and c class. you never know with them. he did say that the side by sides wont have any rocks just like this time. all the class a people that were scared of the rocks and there wasnt any. maybe next time more will show up.

if hes smart becky he wont do the swap. but we all know hes not so he will try and do it within a month. ive hated my swap since the day i started. wish i woulda kept my good ole 350. its costing me way more than i wanted financially and fun time. having to miss this 1st race really bummed me out.
