Thanks,But all that reading made me sleepy!this outta keep you busy for awhile..
http://www.towbar.com/faqs.htm
they suggest leaving the steering wheel UNLOCKED.
I've used this method before and it works decent.....things get pretty ugly in a big hurry when you hit chatter bumps on a dirt road though...
good luck
You can back up...just requires more finesse :sonicjay:Also DO NOT TRY AND BACK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It simply WILL NOT work. Instead you'll jack-knife.
If u must back up, have someone sit in the jeep and turn the wheel while you back the truck up. Or you can use the jeep and put it in R and pull the truck back. Have done those methods befor and they work.
Piss ant!!!just put someone in the drivers seat and have a 2-way radio and call out the turnsAlso you can let it idle and use the brakes on the jeep to haha
x2lol @ this Thread.
I said exactly that.x2
Automatic in PARK
Manual in a gear
T-Case in N
If you have lockers front and rear, remove driveshafts or it won't turn. If no lockers don't worry about it.
As others said, unlock wheel.
I have flat towed for years and years. Just don't do it in the winter.
I said exactly that.oke:
No lockers, put t-case in N and tranny in D or high gear for stick.
You changed my quote.:sonicjay:
oke: Yourself:tonka:
Main reason for this is that maybe, sometimes, the t-case can spin a little from oil drag or whatever, and that will turn the output of the automatic trans.....this is a bad bad thing. Putting the trans in Park makes sure the output of the trans, and input of the t-case does not spin.
