Looks like we might get some flurries and be a little breezy.
I'm further west than you which helps for snow amount, but the SE Michigan snow forecaster I follow, who's usually incredibly accurate, is showing all reliable models trending in the 6-10" range for western Livingston Co and area wide sustained winds of 30-35mph with gusts pushing 60mph. Looks like your region is still in the 5-8" range. Still 60 hours out and he keeps cautioning that anything outside the 48 hour mark still has lots of potential for shifts, but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. The wind and snow combo will make for some nasty driving conditions on Friday.

Personally, I'd like to get hammered. The more the better.
I'm glad the bulk of it should be done by Saturday morning. We have family driving 90 miles each way Saturday.
Agreed on all. I know we tend to get disappointed with snowfall, especially early season like this, but it's looking fairly promising so far from what I'm seeing. Bring it on!

Same here. My Mom is supposed to be coming from Ypsi to my house in Indiana Saturday afternoon. Even if the snow stops I'm worried about the winds and single digit temps.

I filled up my snowblower today in preparation for this. it will be interesting to see how bad it gets, about a a little over week ago we had a 6-10” snow storm that netted less then 1/2”. Then this past weekend, we had a ”trace” that netted over a foot. Lol

Just trenched my yard for a power feed, had about an inch of frost in spots. 5 hours after digging dirt from over 2 feet down its already starting to refreeze before being put back in the trench.
Yuck!! Oh and we have over half of our yearly snowfall already for the season.

It’s a “Bomb Cyclone”!

However, this storm has the potential to dump 6 inches or more of snowfall in parts of the Midwest from Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin into eastern Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.

More than a foot of snow is likely in the western Great Lakes snowbelts, where winds blowing over the lakes may enhance snowfall downwind of lakes Superior and Michigan over the Upper Peninsula and western Lower Michigan.

As always for where i'm at....i'll believe it when it's actually here.

For whatever reason, i'm sure something to do with the lake, but Alpena area rarely gets the snow they forecast for. As in, 75-90% less than they forecast for, if any at all.

That being said. Got fuel, got the genny ready, tractor is at the house and fueled up, wood box is full, we're all set.

So I get a lot of lake effect, but it seems they almost always never get it right, Ive seen 12-18 and 18-24, we will probably just get a dusting. Hoping for a bunch though, love to go play in the deep stuff!!!

I've got nowhere to be, all the equipment I need to remove it, and all the supplies I need to survive it. Bring on the snow!! Power outage due to the wind and snow would be inconvenient, and even quite dangerous for some, but between my wood stove and my generator I don't even care much about that.

I'm not ready for winter. While I have an assload of wood cut, I don't have much left that is dry (less than 12%). I have a ton that is 13-16% and a bazillion that is 20%+. This year we have used twice the wood previous years. It's windy, my wife has been sick, and I have a lot of attic work I'm doing plus I have most of the attic insulation not on part of the house.

We've only run the oil burner for about 15 hours so far this year which is tiny compared to a normal working year.

I have a bunch of trees down I was looking forward to getting cut up before winter showed up, but oh well.
