One of my employees just bought a Pioneer 1000 this past weekend. Looks decent enough to me, but I'd rather have a used Jeep. I'm happy because it keeps him from retiring because goddamn they aren't free.

Last time I looked at a Polaris it looked like a self-tap collated screw gun was given to a 12 year old hopped up on pop rocks and redbull.

Not trying to be a dick but that unit is 18k. What you think it will be worth the day after you buy it let alone 5 years down the road when ur kid is too big for the center seat and maybe ya have another kid ? I’m not trying to push Polaris but that’s what I have. Mine is a 1000xp ranger. Both front and back glass and roof cost me 1300 bucks from a Polaris dealer when they was running a promo where ya spent 1500 ya got 200 off. I have a kfi winch Mount and kfi plow which I love. I don’t know what prices are today but my accessories weren’t bad price wise. I’m sure the other big name brands have 3 seaters in the 18k price range. And that unit has a cvt transmission. Honda has had plenty issues with theirs over the years and I personally wouldn’t buy one but it’s not my money

A comparable polaris is also 18k+. Base model Ranger 1000 starts at $15k and that's no power steering, no winch, no glass/roof. Power steering is adding an extra $1.5k. So you're already knocking on the door for a base model 1000 with PS. Adding on even just the cheapest glass and roof and that's another $1k. So we're already within $500 of the intimidator which still had however many extras more. You add those onto the polaris and you're well over $20k.

I have always owned polaris ATVs, I like them but I also know the downfalls. And from what I see new stuff is much improved quality wise. It's still the same pitfalls, same cheap outs. So, I've a machine with a shit load of bells and whistles for $18k. And a polaris, base model with the the 4 bare necessities (not even including a winch) for almost the same price. That's a no brainer which one I'd choose in that situation. There's no comparison when you're comparing like models.

My problem still is, even with a ranger 570 full-size, it's the same situation, even just adding in PS, glass/roof it's knocking on 15K, for a 570. Still having to add my own winch, add my own X accessory. So I just spent 15K on a less machine and still have to add stuff. Where as, I can spend 20% more, get twice the machine with all the accessories. Again, not really a hard to make choice. Not even including the heavier duty specs of the intimidators.

Which then boils down to I don't know anything other than what I read online about the intimidatirs and the reccomdartion from Whiterhino to go with that shop for that brand. It's absolutely worth checking into even with the high price, which really isn't that high when you look back at the comparisons I just made.

Polaris you're paying for a name. I know this because I buy polaris. Used that is. Well, actually my 14 550 I bought new, and even then it was expensive, but it was the Browning LE EPS model with extra stuff, so reasons.

I'm still going to talk with the shop WR recommended. I definitely want to find out more on the intimidators. But not gonna lie, I really haven't ruled out the cfmoto yet either.

Resale, or insurance value is the simple reason I wouldn't buy an "off-brand" unit.

Build quality on the Polaris is trash. Every single piece on my Maverick feels, fits, and looks nicer than on my RZR Turbo.

Like anything else, I'd stick to what you can get local and get parts for. Accesories aren't so much when you buy them away from the dealer. I have maybe 800 bucks into my roof, windshield, and rear window. Winch is an Amazon unit on a SuperAtv plate.

Dealers charge out the ass because it's only another 12 bucks a month on the note.

Any input on a Yamaha Viking? Found a 2014 for 10k nice shape machine.

That's the big issue with polaris, and why I struggle to justify buying a new one. Used I don't have a problem with cause at least mostly what's going to break has broken and been replaced. Though right now used prices are out the field. As stated with the ranger 1000 and general 1000 I found used.

For me, finding parts local has never really been an option, it's always been more reasonable to buy parts online. There's dealers on the area but the costs are 2x as much as just ordering.

Razors are junk. They make too much power for the driveline and people beat em like a 1 ton rig. No comparison to a ranger in my book. My ranger is a 2018 and only thing I’ve done is the brake switch went bad and had to stomp the brake to start it and dealer gave me the switch for free cause it’s a known issue.
As far as the Viking, I’m sure it’s a fine unit, Yamaha been in the Sxs game for ever, I’d bet it’s a better option than a new off brand

Speaking of resale. My brother sold his 800 ranger crew that was 2010 or so in great shape that he paid 12k for new. He sold it for 8k in one hour on fb to a guy from Michigan that bought it to resale

I love the Yamaha units, I still have 2 2001 quads on original belts, run like tops. We drove a Viking around recently and had no complaints, the bed/seats on the Pioneer are more preferable to us though.

I love the Honda units, and the Pioneer is a great value in my opinion, our next one will likely be a Pioneer.

Used prices are stupid, I sold my RZR for more than I paid for it 3 years ago. I can probably get close to or more than I paid for my Maverick today. It's like buying a Toyota lol, buy it new or super old and broke down.

Wow, did a quick look at fb marketplace. Rzr prices are high. I wonder if they are selling or if people are just hoping?
From what i've been looking at, they're selling. Been watching for a while and I see almost any of the ATVs and UTVs that come up for are gone within a couple days. There's a few that have been for sale for a while, but those are the junk ones, or the old 2wds that are priced high.

I paid like 16.2 out the door for my RZR in 16 and sold it for 18.5 with a roof, windshield, half doors, and winch plate in 19.

I paid 20.5 for our Maverick Sport XMR in 19, and could probably get it and some more today.

Polaris is still selling the same damn RZR's they've been selling since 14 for like 40% more money lol.

Unless you need to buy something right away, I'd sell now and sit on the cash for a few months. The world is going to look different after Labor Day.
I actually thought I'd have more contact from it, even though it's not even been a day. One guy on FB offered 4k. I declined.

My 6k just is too high even in this market?

That's the interesting thing about Craigslist before and Marketplace now. You can only go off current ads to price your stuff, but you have no idea if it sold or what it sold for.

A stupid Polaris 450 brand new is like 8k, I don't think asking 6 is crazy for an 800.

One thing of note though, I happened to be lucky enough to be riding a wave of inflation and rising prices, we're obviously teetering on the brink of all that demand leading to an excess of supply and crashing prices, same as every other market out there.

Didn't think so, had a couple offers but decided not to take it right now, it might be different if I needed to sell the atv. It's more of a I want to sell it to put cash towards a side by side, but I also wont be upset if I don't sell it honestly.
