Well just put a 360 in the CJ and got it running but when I start it up it will run a little over 1000rpm then die out a pop out the carb. There is not fire in the carb.
Also when we get it running a it stays running we rev it up and it pops every now and then there is a fire but very seldom

At high rpm going down the road it runs great lots of power but it takes alot to get it going off idle.

Help would be appreciated thank you.

Sounds like your timing to too advanced.
Thats what I'm wondering. I ask my GF dad and he said it could be possible to 180 degrees off. Because before we adjusted the timing revving it up would cause a fire all the time. But would it run real good at high rpm down the road.

Timing is to far advanced put a timing light on it and see where its at or possible firing order is off or vac leak
