anyone know if you can run a 242 flipped over?? I am pretty sure not, but never hurts to ask.... Reason being I have one, and would like to swap it in place of a 203 in a full size gm.

Not a good choice to run in a full-size vehicle. Jeep did use a case with both part-time and full-time in full-size vehicles (229), but it was also a driver-drop.


I've never heard of anybody flipping anything like that. People who use that case in swap situations usually change their front axle to match it instead.

No you cant bc the pump pic up is on bottom of the case if you flip it then it would pic up any fluid!~

REVISED:

"No, you can not flip it because the oil pump pick up is on the bottom of the case, if you flip it then the fluid level would be below the pick up tube and not be able to flow the fluid.":teehee:
