Seriously, the only version of Rainbow worth a fukc was with him on vocals. Check out the "Rainbow Rising" album, or "Gates Of Babylon" or "Kill The King" from their subsequent albums. Dio, Ritchie Blackmore and Cozy Powell made some of the best rock music ever.
First concert I ever saw was with Ronnie. Olympia Stadium, 1974. Deep Purple, ELO, and Elf, with Ronnie on Vocals. Right after that tour, Blackmore quit Purple and took Elf and turned them into Rainbow. By the second album, "Rainbow Rising" Blackmore fired everyone except Ronnie.
