Need to get the front axle replaced on my jk. I have the J8 axles. Its going to be covered under insurance. Choices are a jeep specialty shop that has the axle in stock (but my buddy who works at a jeep dealer says their quote seems high), Szott jeep who can get the part in a few days but then its backed by jeep. Or gerber collision which would probably be a couple weeks to repair pending part availability, but has lifetime coverage. Thoughts?

My thoughts exactly. If your ins is covering it, go the route of your dealer. If any problems come up they are more likely to take care of it.

The gerber lifetime option seems appealing. But, warranties always make me nervous. Will they really want to fix it in 3 years or more?? hmm

Dealer is a pretty reliable option...
