I have a 1982 Jeep CJ5 with full width 10 bolt front /12 bolt rear Chevy 6 lug 3.73 axles. I’m not running crazy power but it does have the AMC 360 motor swapped into it, with a T176 Transmission and Dana 300 transfer case, 33” tires.

It mainly gets used for Summer Street driving, and occasionally trips up to the dunes.

I had a buddy weld up the rear end and now it’s making noise and I’m looking to replace it. Besides looking for another 12 bolt which I would rather not do since they’ve got the c clips, Is the 14 bolt with the six lug bolt pattern a good replacement option? Or is a c clip eliminator the way to go and live with barking around every corner?
