I guess I'm more wondering on how to get the thing lured out of the pond. I only see him like once every 6 months. I have a big aluminum rake and a rope that I throw in and try to pull him in, but so far have only found his little brother and he was to quick for me to catch...
flat crab trap with about twenty slip knot loops of fishing line, a live fish tethered in the middle.
Much like a raptor trap, the turtle will get caught in the fishing line.

You can do either a bank line from a tree limb or a gallon milk jug. Get a line that’s over 100lb test and a good steel leader with a big hook. Put a raw stinky piece of meat on it. Or any piece meat really. Catch him and throw him in a plastic barrel and take him somewhere far away. Hook will dissolve in a few weeks. I would clean it and eat it though but I understand. And you have more turtles than that big one. You may catch 5-6 or more Just don’t kill it and dispose of it please

I'm quite confident I won't be able to lift it into my truck bed alive. Last I saw it's shell was a minimum 2' diameter. My wife recently saw him and thought he was bigger.

My homeowners insurance went up 18%...no claims, no change in value, no reason at all... Just $400 more annually 😑
We had that huge hailstorm in Howell last year. Several claims that I am aware of were well over $100k. The insurance companies are definitely going to pass a cost increase on to us. Mine didn’t change much more than usual, but my renewal was in October.
