Decent reference

Bottom line, dying and coming back to life is not exclusive to Christianity.
I will have to agree with Bruce on this one. The practice of crucifixion was invented only a few hundred years before Christ.

Alexander the Great brought it from there to the eastern Mediterranean countries in the 4th century BC, and the Phoenicians introduced it to Rome in the 3rd century BC. It was virtually never used in pre-Hellenic Greece. The Romans perfected crucifion for 500 years until it was abolished by Constantine I in the 4th century AD. Crucifixion in Roman times was applied mostly to slaves, disgraced soldiers, Christians and foreigners--only very rarely to Roman citizens.

Jesus was not a Roman god. He was a Jew and you are right in saying that He didn't write the bible. It was written by man. It was translated from the original manuscripts by scribes from Greek and Hebrew to Latin then to English.

You bring up all these other religions and mythical beings, which they are. If other religions are right about life and death and where you go when you die, then all other religions would have to be wrong including Christianity. You see they can't all be right. Only one can be the right one. If Christianity is true, then all other religions have to be false.
Withholding comments to let this thread get back to general discussions.

Since the train derailment in Ohio there have been three more across the country. This can't be a coincidence.
In the past 30 years there have been an average of about 1700 a year. You only hear about the big ones like in Ohio, or the local ones like this morning in Van Buren Township.

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics records 54,539 train derailments between 1990 to 2021, an average of 1,704 per year.

Well, I was all gung-ho to get the new Samsung Galaxy S23+ when it came out, so I signed up for the pre-order Feb 1 and received my new phone Feb 14.... While it is a very nice phone, I really don't think this was a huge upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy S20FE.... I mean yeah, on paper the specs look better, and loading webpages and apps is a little faster, but if Verizon wouldn't have given me $800 to trade in my old phone, I would not have been very happy about this "upgrade".

So for anyone who has a S20 series or newer phone, I would consider keeping it unless there is something physically wrong with it, or you get a smokin' good deal like I did...

Myself I have always been an IPhone guy. My BIL he has the Galaxy. I do like the camera and the pics his phone takes.
It's light years better than the IPhone. His touch screen is not as precise as the IPhone. I have thought about jumping ship but the next time I'm due for an upgrade.

I had an iPhone years ago, it was just ok IMO.... Way back in the day I came from a BlackBerry, transitioned to Droid when BB went by the wayside, and had an iPhone for a while as well. I thought the Android system did a better job of more closely matching a computer (way back in the day) so I stuck with them. Now, iPhone and Android operate much similar than they used to, but Android far and away has more flexibility for customization. If you aren't one to customize, then iPhone or Android, both are fine and easy enough to operate. I can't leave shit stock, so the Android system works better for me.

EDIT: I will say the camera on the phone is amazing. My wife has an iPhone 13 pro, and the camera on my phone is nicer than hers. (she even admits it.....lol)

Speaking of warm weather, this happened last weekend. Its worth noting that this time of year they typically have ice racing on the same stretch of river with trucks and trailers parked on the ice.
