Ya still gotta be 21 to have a conceal carry permit in Michigan. And I am no way against owning guns. I own many guns and me and my grandson shoot quite a bit. But to say 18-20 year olds (I cleared that up for the boomers and the literal folk) should be allowed to carry guns is crazy. Guess it’s a law for a reason.

Thank you, I needed a good laugh today.

18-20 years old means nothing in the terms of who should own a gun. When I took my CPL class there was a pretty good mix of ages; youngest being 21, oldest being around low to mid 60s. Go figure, all the lower age groups shot the best; no real issues. There is one older age that I will always remember vividly; was probably about 60 maybe more, one of the higest ages in the group; and when came time to shoot targets could barley hold the gun steady enough to hit paper and didn't understanding about aiming using sights. The gun even had a laser, and still could barley hit paper.

That's just one specific example; obviously there are going to be other extremems to counter that; but that's exactly my point. 18 is an adult; so wtf difference does it make at all to further keep pushing lines and splitting hairs with "oH yOu hAvE tO bE 21"...blah blah blah, nonsense. There is plenty of people that shouldn't have access to a gun period, old, middle age, young, and 18.

Can you prove to me that there is more than one god? Small "g".
The other religions you mention are false teachings and false gods that are made up and do nothing for us. What we think of the most and can't stop thinking of, those would be our made up gods.
I believe that all these religions should be taught in schools. That way the students can make their own minds up about what they are being taught. But Christianity is not allowed in schools. Just like evolution is not taught in schools. I wonder why? It contradicts evolution.
As far as praying to other gods is one of the Ten Commandments. You shall have no other gods before Me.
This will never not make me laugh.

Those other religions say the exact same thing about your religion; including the zealous way in which they "know".

Pretty sure you missed the point of his post. I don't think he was talking about aim or fire control, he was talking about decision making, responsibility, etc. I'm not saying I agree with him or even disagree with you, but all the stuff you just said has nothing to do with the discussion.

I'm not saying a blanket statement that 18 years olds shouldn't be allowed to posses or carry firearms (but I'm sure that's all that certain people will get out of this post). But let's be honest here, I don't think a single one of us can say we didn't make a lot of stupid decisions at 18, or even 21, that we wouldn't make now. Does that mean none of the 18 year olds should have access to firearms? I don't think so, neither do most of you, but others don't agree and they have plenty of examples to back up their stance. Problem is, there's no single right answer but lots of wrong ones. The same answer won't apply to everyone but that's how they had to make the laws. I know 12 year olds who could safely own and carry any firearm. Does that mean the legal age should be 12? Of course not. I also know 75 years olds who couldn't safely own or carry any firearm. Does that mean the legal age should be even older than that? Also no. It's all a balancing act, and that balance will never work for everyone, but it's meant to work for most. The balance some people want is to take away the guns entirely, which obviously doesn't work for the majority either. It's lose-lose, painting with these broad brushes is always going to miss part of reality.

Congratulations, I bet on the day you turned 18 you got your adult brain and made every decision perfectly and never made a mistake. You can own plenty of guns at 18 as did I. The law says 21 to purchase a handgun. I didn’t make the law. I know Rilke of all ages that shouldn’t own a gun but they do. Like said above. You missed what I was getting at.

Yeah you just proved my point.... It's not about freedom of religion or freedom of speech, it's about you thinking that your way is the best way. You prove your narcissism time and time again.

NOUN
  1. excessive interest in or admiration of oneself and one's physical appearance.
I don't think you know the meaning of the word.
I believe in one God and you say I am a narcissist.
Besides it's not about my way being the best. Jesus said it Himself, I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6
You are free to choose Him and His ways or not. If you don't like what I am saying then you are free to move along and not respond but in doing so you show me and others you are anti Christ. That's really not a good place to stand. But it is your choice to accept Him or deny Him.
To deny Christ before men on earth means He will deny you before His Father in heaven.

Where this warning becomes more dire is in the lives of those who consistently, or easily, dissociate themselves from Christ for the sake of health, wealth, popularity, or freedom. Those who aren't willing to be associated with Jesus on earth won't be allowed to claim association with Him in eternity (Matthew 10:37; Mark 8:36).
Context Summary
Matthew 10:26–33 continues Jesus' encouragement, as He sends the Twelve out with His authority. He commands the apostles to proclaim far and wide what He whispers to them now. Persecution will come to them, but they must not be afraid. Their enemies can only kill their bodies. They should fear God, instead, and understand that their Father cares for them. He will see if they fall. Jesus declares that He, too, will acknowledge to His Father everyone who acknowledges Him to others. Those who deny His identity as God's Son, however, He will also deny.

I would like to point out that the leaders of all those other religions died and are still in the grave today. Jesus is the only one who dies and rose from the grave. Secular historians wrote about this in those times. Why do you think Christianity exploded after Christ was crucified and rose from the grave? If He would have stayed in the grave Christianity would have died at that moment not exploded to what it is today.

Your boy is just the most recent version of a story that's older than ol' Christ. Also, Jesus didn't write the Bible it was written by other men and then translated and rewritten throughout history.

We're getting off the original topic though...I'm fine if you want to give kids the ability to pray in school voluntarily, but don't force a specific religion down there throats. Also don't think that kids truly have a choice on whether or not to do something like a team prayer, the weight of social pressure is very real for some of them and especially at that age.

I will have to agree with Bruce on this one. The practice of crucifixion was invented only a few hundred years before Christ.

Alexander the Great brought it from there to the eastern Mediterranean countries in the 4th century BC, and the Phoenicians introduced it to Rome in the 3rd century BC. It was virtually never used in pre-Hellenic Greece. The Romans perfected crucifion for 500 years until it was abolished by Constantine I in the 4th century AD. Crucifixion in Roman times was applied mostly to slaves, disgraced soldiers, Christians and foreigners--only very rarely to Roman citizens.

Jesus was not a Roman god. He was a Jew and you are right in saying that He didn't write the bible. It was written by man. It was translated from the original manuscripts by scribes from Greek and Hebrew to Latin then to English.

You bring up all these other religions and mythical beings, which they are. If other religions are right about life and death and where you go when you die, then all other religions would have to be wrong including Christianity. You see they can't all be right. Only one can be the right one. If Christianity is true, then all other religions have to be false.
