Well my son got his marching papers yesterday. He leaves for retrain starting in Lackland Tx for six months then Spokan Wa for the remainder. He has come a long way in 6 years. I could not be more proud of him, he has been on his own since 18 and never looked back. :usa:
Thank him for his service.
My nephew joined the marines. He enjoys it but also misses home. He was able to come home after boot camp (South Carolina)for 30 days over Christmas. It was supposed to be only 10 days but his schooling is backed up. He did his Combat training(North Carolina) which he said was 10x more difficult that boot camp. He said they only gave him about 5 to 6 hours sleep in 7 days. Brutal I'd say.
He has been shipped out to California 29palms for his training but they are backed up still. So he was sent home for 30 days to work at the recruiting center and he just finished that only to go back and wait to school starts in mid may. He was supposed to come back till it started but a few guys messed up got drunk and they pulled everyone's leave. Nobody goes home. He is completely bummed over that one.:usa:
