My cat might be kinda old, But I would bet he can kick most other cats ass.

Update: September 2014
The cat that started this thread is not longer with us.

Heat it up with propane and cool it with penetrating oil. Usually frees shit up for me.
I heated it up good with mapp gas, problem is I can't get to the actual splined part. I flipped It on its side, hose clamped a radiator hose to the od so it could poor penetrating oil in it. Gonna leave it until next weekend, if still no I guess the axle will come out and get put into a press.

I was just looking at the IR-121. Some reviews are good, some not so good. I wonder if some bad reviews are from using a too small compressor. The next step up appears to be Snap-on or Chicago Pneumatic for over $300.

I had hoped the HF would be better after bumping to a bigger compressor with more air flow, but no noticeable difference.

Maybe I'll just surf craigslist and see what comes up.

That appears to be the one I have. Sometimes, randomly, the black part comes unscrewed while I'm using it. The only way I can tell is it hammers away and doesn't do anything.

So I stop, twist it 1/4 turn, and go back to whatever I was doing. I usually use it to separate welds, I just recently used it to blow the angle iron off my trailer to replace the deck boards. I had all the boards off in about fifteen minutes. I've also used it with a pickle for for pitman arms and the like. Sometimes I gotta hang out for a second, but it hasn't ever failed to do whatever I set out to do.

Whatever a new one costs, if I lost my 7.00 one, or it disintegrated, ro whatever, I'd buy another in an instant.

Speaking of HF bests, the torque wrench I got from there is starting to fall apart lol. At some point I lost a screw from the face of it and now it tends to pull apart....i'm sure that it's quite accurate now :sonicjay:

Bought a el chepo Carry-on 5x8 trailer a week or so ago. Just basic mesh deck, 1 7/8s ball, 12" tires. Wish the tires were the bigger size, but doesn't really matter. I bought it to keep downstate with me, so I don't have to rent a trailer, or drive up north to get one. Plus it's small enough that I can tow it (loaded) with my fusion.

Played around with it this weekend. Cut off the shitty 1 7/8s coupler and put a 2" one on so I don't have to keep switching balls. Then bought some 1.25 x 6 decking, carriage bolts and put a real wood deck on the trailer. Didn't add much weight, but I think it added a lot to the longevity. Before and after pics.

That turned out pretty good, I think I'll do the same thing to mine. It flexes like a wet noodle with any weight on it, lol

Nice. Before I had a pickup and I still lived in Royal Oak, I had a little trailer for moving stuff that wouldn't fit in my jeep. It was handy as hell, but a certified PITA to backup.

I did this for my father a few years ago with a 6X8 snowmobile trailer. I used two peices of bed frame to hold down the ends. His friends are so amazed because 4 bolts hold on all 20 peices of decking. The thing has never seen over 400lbs even though the trailer is rated for 2000 so I know the thing that will kill it is rust... again.
