I went to use my 276C Garmin GPS after it being put away for over 6 months and the unit would not charge the battery. When powered off and plugged it it read "No battery". Now in the year or so I have had the GPS I have only used it 2-3 times. So I called Garmin and they thought it might just be a software update. Well after that did not work they told me to send them the battery and they would send me a new one free of charge. So all it costed me was the 2-3 dollars in shipping cost. Put the new battery in and good as new again :woot:

Garmn has A+ customer support. Magellan on the other hand . . . . . My ifrst GPS was a Garmin back in '98. I turned it on one night and it said "Upload not available" and would not do anything else. I sent Garmin an email. They said send it back even though it was out of warranty by several months. About a week and a half later I had a brand new unit.
