mocking up the frt axle for now, gotta reposition the coil buckets yet and getting my bushing kit for the frt axle from broncograveyard tomorrow

those are not the coils i'm using, the red ones on the left are the coils that i will be using

i also got a good core support and fneder support from another donor, so i ended up drilling 100 spot welds twice today......that sucked

Judging from the steering linkage that front axle is from a 77 F-150.

 

yeah i wasn't 100% sure, but i was thinking it was 77, i thought it was weird with the way the pitman arm had the joint not the steering arm ( i don't actually have the pitman arm, but the connecting point to it on the linkage is just the tapered hole)

 

Very poor steering design, I had one for a plow truck. The toe changes alot with different loads on the front end. Also a weak setup for trying to turn big tires in the rocks.

 

is their something else that you rec (other then hydro steer)??

 

78-79 steering is alot better design and bolts in place.

got the old 87 style dash and seats out and installed dash and seats from a 91 Explorer

 

The dash fits in there nice. Lookin sweet.

frame is cleaned and primered,

 

Looking well thought out. I always liked the B2's, I seen one once that a guy put a TBI axle under the front and rear, wheeled like a real spider..

frame is painted, starting to do final mock up of the axle and getting the susp squared away

i alos got the top end of my motor torn down and will be reassm. this weekend and getting that on the frame

 

Made some measurements and compared them to the old TTB vs the SAS........

from the ground to the bottom of the diff on my D35 TTB with my Iroks it was 8"s

From the ground to the bottom of the diff on my D44 with my iroks it is 12"

Since the axle is a 77 are you gonna cut off the radius arm wedges and move them in? I know that is what most of the EB guys do.

 

no i am leaving them where they are, i built new coil mounts on the axle tonite just inside of the wedges
