well got some stuff done.

Hooked up my new air compressor, out together my new 12 ton press, wired up and played a little with my new plasma cutter.

Got my front spring pack put together, bought my spring perches for the axle. Got one of the two remaining wedges off the axle. Amd disassmebled the Front Chevy D44 i bought for the flat top knuckles. Damn thing had a busted bearing and is stuck on the spindle hub. Have to bring it to work and clean up all the parts.

Now i was told with doing the flat top chevy knuckle swap that i would need to reuse the chevy stubs, but when comparing to the Ford D44 stubs i could not see a difference.

Hope it doesn't get to cold the next few days, i hope to make my spring mounts and get the axle mocked into place.

well my ford D44 and chevy D44 stubs are identical, same length, same spline, same ujoint. This makes me very happy. Now it'll be easier to buy chrome moly shafts.

I put scout II knuckles out on an early bronco axle the ujoint was a different size and I believe the spline was different. Also, spline count from a scout II is different from a dana 44 from a 77 f-250. I know this because I thought I could use hubs from a scout to put on the ford axle and the spline count was different besides the hub being to small so they aren't all the same. Many were maybe but not all.

Maybe i should have clarified better.
I was refering to all fullsize dana 44's.

I know that the early bronco axles used smaller joints and different stubs. Some jeeps also had different axle shafts. The stubs seemed to differ according to the braks and hub styles.

I mean different as in different then a fullsize.

i am doing a leaf spring swap, and i am looking for a locker for the front but will most likely buy an aussie. I am hoping to spend most the day on weds in the garage putting it back together. I am still waiting for the hi-steer arms i ordered. Hope to have them tomorrow but most likely weds or thurs
