I want the common 4wd knuckle, 4wd hubs, etc. Maybe I will get lucky and even snag a tie rod to avoid building one from scratch.

I will just have the stub shafts spinning in the wind. It avoids all the issues finding the 2wd stuff.

I want to cut the 2.5" tube ends and slide them inside a 3"x.25 wall "center" tube with rosette holes drilled. Pretty basic here. I think after checking the stock width a few times I can smooth the 2.5" tube and force the 6"x 2.5" ends into the 3"x.25 tube equally till the width is correct then basically just match the angle of the C on the other side.

Make one stupid strong axle that will laugh after a wheelstand.

While I will eventually replace everything but the outer 6" c sections with new stuff. Starting off I want as much of the knuckles, brakes etc in place just so I dont need to spend another $150 out the gate on new stuff that is probally going to rust as this sits till next year.

the 2wd and 4wd knuckles are shared. I believe the 2wd hub is just a 4wd hub with an insert bolted into it like a stub shaft.

I did this with a dana 30 that was damaged from a crash that I got for $15 in my 46 Willys. Granted, I sleeved the inside instead of the outside.

Those 2wd setups are only $100 from Ross.

I can confirm, I have a 2wd beam under my LJ and knuckles and everything are the same - just that 2wd stub in there... As in, I literally took all the 4wd stuff and mounted it to the 2wd beam. It's hollow, just put a sleeve in it! I submit it's a whole lot less work

Ok what years of the 2wd axle had the spindle setup that requires diffrent hubs?



If I can use the 2wd beam pictured above with normal 4wd stubs spinning around then I am golden. Will sleeve it with a single shaft and bam done.

Looking for the above axle and stuff you guys shown.

But if I get the "rare" 2wd one that has spindles I am screwed as far as maintance/replacment stuff.

So I had a 1992 2WD Comanche and it had spindles. Here is the thing though - even if you got an older model that has spindles, simply install your new style knuckles - The C is still the same. If you can't find the 2wd stubs revert back to plan A and run a 4wd stub. Of course I just threw away a set of knuckles when we moved in January.

Anyway, might be a hodge podge but all these parts are super easy to find... Minus the 2wd beam when you want one. (When you don't want one they are everywhere)

EDIT* never answered your question. I am not sure - 97-01 is going to be all new style. If I had to guess id say 93-95 would be the new style. I bet a parts store would know...
EDIT #2* Ok, so I will have an extra set of knuckles like any day now. I have to pick up a Rubi44 front that's bent - the knuckles are fine though. If you run into any issues you can have these, I wont need them.
